Have you decided exactly what you plan to cut out at this point?

So far only language translations have been cut. All the graphics, content, sounds/music were left in. Make sure you keep some room on your device, as this is a big game! :p

This game sounds very good! It sounds like it but can anyone tell me if this game is like Fire Emblem?

Yea I'd really love to see some resemblence to fire emblem.
I'd love it if w had units we leveled up as we play the game (like FE) but I have a feeling this is one of those game where we buy units? And you said something about 200 different units? what do you mean by that? Can you really have 200 different types of fighters? I can even imagine what they would be.. But I'm certain to buy this one.

I believe that it is 200 units types across all armies.

Hmmm I don't know how I managed not to have played Fire Emblem yet, but I'll have to try it soon...

As for the unit types, check out http://www.wesnoth.org/units/1.6/C/mainline.html for a complete list. There are six major factions, and each faction can recruit maybe 10 different types of starting units from 1 or 2 races, which can change to more powerful versions of the units as they level up.

So for example, you recruit a Human Mage. He gets the name "Steve" and two random traits like "quick" and "intelligent". Then as Steve battles and gains experience, he reaches level 2, so you can choose the upgrade path that he will take. Maybe you want him to be a "Red Mage" for more damage, or a "White Mage" for healing? Then when you are playing through a campaign, in the next mission you can recall Steve for a fixed cost of 20 gold, and he will keep his experience and level.

OMG, I just found out that you can get a Chocobone unit!

    I want one!! :D

Remember, you can try the PC/Mac/Linux version for free at http://www.wesnoth.org

Chocobones? That is just plain epic. And Fire Emblem is great, you should try it.

Well, you're doing exactly what I did before, when I find the game I'm so excited that I keep posting and checking this thread constantly... well, look like this game has only one guy doing the iphone port, let's give him some space, when time's come it will, just be patience...

well, there are so many great games released those days & some prices are even drop to 99 cents. Currently I'm playing 2 games and 4 new purchased games are lining up to finished....:D

well, Gang$ter" is one of my favor recently, super fun and worth for every single penny...
also playing Alive 4 Dead, it just relased for 99 cents only, its RPG elements make it so addicted plus 30 missions a bonus...

some other come from gameloft 99cents games... usually big company can make promise, release on time, and drop price that noone can beat at that quality... sweet:cool:

so while you're waiting why don't you take a look / try something else that you may miss before but actually it is great and fun!

I wonder if it'll become dull after awhile... will we expect updates?

Also, will there be mods? Because most online games use the add-ons other players create.

Woah there is going to be Open Betas? I guess I will see if I could get in, either way I'm still buying the game whenever it comes out.

Read the thread - the core game gets updates every few months (and they usually add BIG things, like whole new campaigns that'll take you days to beat), and the iPhone version will be kept up to date with that.

Also, the PC version has a full editing suite, and the iPhone version connects to the community content browser, so you can download whatever missions, campaigns and mods the community produces from in-game.

In the game you buy units, which then level up and follow you through campaigns. If you're good at preserving your forces you can fight the last battles of a campaign with some very powerful allies.

Kyle, I went and bought Kyle's Quest just to thank you for porting this game (Ok, and because I like RPGs too...). I'm going to make room on the front page of my phone for Wesnoth. I just found this thread, and I'm stunned that we're getting everything that comes with the PC version.

I have a question - the PC game obsessively saves everything (like so you can go back to any turn in a game, or replay any battle). Does this one do that as well? And if so, how much memory does that use on the phone over time?

    Also:

    This is awesome sauce.
