Looks great! Ill be sure to get it when I gat an iPad in a few months. Easily over $10 of value, so whatever happens to the price between now and when I buy, I will not complain But if the .99 madness continues, I will surely not complain either!
heh good work, you're on pocketgamer kyle! http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPad/Battle+for+Wesnoth+HD/news.asp?c=19452
Sweet, exactly what I was hoping for! The iPhone version will also be permanently $.99 when the next update is approved.
Instant purchase. This is the app/game I will be showing off to my friends to make them jealous of my iPAd.
Kyle, My advice to you is to take your time. Don't rush. Maybe use it for a while on your iPad before you release it to make sure it is just so. I think that as long as you have it out by around the end of April, that is plenty soon enough. Of course, my attitude might be because I have to wait until then to get the 3G version, and I am jealous of everyone else getting to play before me. Michael
Anyone here getting an iPad on launch day and want to help beta test? It will probably be a few weeks before I get my iPad, as I'm currently living overseas...
Now that looks like fun. It'll actually be more profitable at 99c since a lot more iPad owners would buy it. But if this is honestly as good as you say, I wouldn't mind paying $2 to $4 for it.
I'm not sure; I think the initial "omg my new toy" buying spree will give iPad owners plenty of reason to spend money on their new toy. Plus, I don't think there's going to be much competition in the RPG/Strategy space at launch for Kyle to worry about. I'm concerned that he's leaving money on the table by not charging $1.99 as his "el cheapo" price.
This may be true, but then there's people like me. I appreciate but rarely play most turn-based strategy games because I'm terrible at them (Heroes of Might and Magic almost made me cry). But being able to pick up a well-received game for $0.99 near launch when most of the big names are apparently going to be borderline-overpriced? Makes me think maybe it's time to give it another go. Besides, Battle for Wesnoth is a long-standing free PC game, and most of the porting work has already been done thanks to the iPhone version. Combine that with the iPad screen size being closer to the PC's screen size, so less modification is needed, and it makes sense that this would be cheaper than the iPhone version (although I understand the iPhone version is also getting a price drop to $0.99 soon?). Just because it's iPad doesn't mean it needs to be $$$.
Since the iPad SDK finally went GM, I'm reallllly tempted to submit Wesnoth HD already and just hope for the best. It works really great on the simulator already... What do you think?
Kyle, becuase of you, I will buy iPad. Kyle, no need hurry. Beta test before release. Kyle, there is no release date for Hong Kong store. please wait for me. ^O^
Ok I will resist temptation, and wait until I can test on a real device and hear back from beta testers I think I will have to buy an iPad from ebay and get it shipped here. Unfortunately my iPod Touch just died (washing machine!) but now I have a good excuse hehe
