Unfortunately there is no way to access the manual while in your game, as it requires a lot of memory...
Ah well, no worries then. Onto request number two! Can the in-game menu text be shrunk? The clickable area is a good size, but the text seems huge compared to everything else in the game.
just tried to sync the desktop save into the iPhone and i got: "This save is from a different version of the game would you like to load it" after clicking yes i get: "Error, the game mapcould not be loaded: Illegal character found in the map. The scenario cannot be loaded." This is the Descent Into the Darkness campaign At the start of "Orc War" help !!!
Unfortunately some saves from the new v1.8 desktop Wesnoth can not work with the iPhone, if the campaign level has been changed too much in the latest version. Obviously that map was updated to use some new terrain which does not exist yet in the iPhone version...
Oh :\ okie. Is there any way to know which are compatible and which arent? just so this doesnt happen again to me ? thnx for quick response
Which led me to add to the changelog, can you update the iphone version to 1.8.x to be compatible with the computer version?
Nope. Star Craft is real time strategy and set in a futuristic spacey, explosivey kind of setting. Battle for Wesnoth is Turn-based, sort of like Fire Emblem in that you move all of your dudes and then the computer gets to use all of his dudes, repeat repeat.
As far as I've seen, you are not really missing anything. Information like this might be displayed in the Saves Menu, but even then I think it would just be limited to what scenario you are currently playing, not for instance "Scenario 9/10: Evil Evilness" Ive noticed this too, and at times its a bit confusing. I just keep in mind how many total scenarios there are (listed in the campaign menu) and how many I've completed. In general tho, i dont worry about it, especially if the campaign is particularly engaging.
Pitta, I really enjoyed the heck outta Descent into Darkness, the OTHER Undead campaign. Other than that I can also second checking out Under the Burning Suns, overall very good although art and dialog are really cheesy at times IMO. Im currently on Northern Rebirth which is seriously massive, almost too big. Next up is perhaps Invasion from the Unknown Part 1....but play Descent into Darkness first because I think there is at least one character that crosses over...
You sound like you know what you are doing, but just to make sure, while there is no in-game manual, there is this helpful web page: http://wiki.wesnoth.org/Play and what is this about a "Wesnoth 2"....... Kyle's gotta be pulling our legs
Speaking of that sexy new iPhone and its new hardware (white one is O so nice) any guesses as to when the REAL next iPod Touch is scheduled to come out? I got the Gen 2...Im happy that iOS4 will run on it, but the thing deservedly deserves to be upgraded. But I just know Apple is waiting on me to buy the Gen 3 before they announce the Gen 4 with A4 processor, gyroscopamathingys and hd screen Nice, Post Spamming FTW!
Updating to v1.8 codebase is in the works, but looks like it can not be done for the next update Had to post something before there was just a whole page with only bloodyparrot talking to himself
Can someone link me or send a PM where i can find the Desktop Version of Wesnoth that is currently compatible with the iPHone, I want to sync saves and play them on both
