HUZZAH! Purchased! I was lucky enough to pick up a $100 iTunes gift card for $85 via a recent Best Buy promotion. I bought that specifically for the BA expansions and upcoming Slitherine games, such as Panzer Corp and its expansions. --DotComCTO
I just got the Rommel in Normandy expansion and had a look at the The levels look well done I hope for a TA tournament
I think i answered in more detail prior in this thread, but basically each expansion contains 8-10 new single player missions, with units and any new mechanics to match the setting, plus 4-5 multiplayer maps. You can browse the campaign and mission briefings ingame, you are only prompted to purchase if you actually go to play the mission itself. Hope that helps. Cheers Pip
So, how many IAP are there in total and how long is the gameplay time including the IAP in total? Thanks.
Have you not played the game? Each mission in the main game takes ages easily around an hour or more, I wasn't sure at first with the price being so high but there is loads of hours of gameplay here (even without the IAP which I haven't bought yet as I'm still playing he main game missions) Then there's some free levels made by the community. Try out the lite version it gives you a good idea of what you get, it's worth pointing out though I had to try the lite version on two separate occasions before I understood what was going on and was ready to pick up the main game.
So I have been thinking of getting this to go with the iPad 5 I will get soon. However I am not very good at turn based strategy games. Will this be too hard for me?
It does a good job of holding your hand early game, teaching you the fundamentals without becoming too frustrating or simplistic. Late game is very challenging, but you will be prepared.
You'll also find that the multiplayer community is very helpful, and most players are happy to give you hints and tips if you let people know you are a less-veteran player Cheers Pip
Just in case anyone is interested, we just released the very latest expansion for BA, Fortress Metz! It's a historically grounded look at the 3rd Army's attack on Metz in 1944. Further details here: http://www.slitherine.com/games/ba_me The game has also updated to version 2.5.0. Change log below. We look forward to seeing you on the battlefield! Cheers Pip New Fortress Metz Campaign. New units, objects, and tiles from the Fortress Metz campaign available as IAP Rule change - Armour with morale from 1-50 gets one reaction shot at reduced effect. Armour with 0 morale or less does not react to anyone. Performance - memory optimizations improve performance and stability Performance - improvements to multiplayer stability AI - improved how the AI decides when to assault. Fix - AI did not receive penalties for unloading, now fixed. Fix - other minor bug fixes
We always update all versions at the same time, but the propagation across the different territories on the App Store can be variable. So keep checking and it should be there very soon. Cheers Pip
Can't believe the value for money this game has, and to think I thought about this for ages because of the price, then missed a sale and bought it full price anyway never looked back I've had some crazy amount of playtime for £14.
Purchased! Now...when can we expect Panzer Corps for iPad? Will it be before the end of December 2013? I know it is beta testing now, but I didn't apply for the beta as I was too pegged at work and didn't think I'd be able to devote the necessary time to do a good job at testing. So how goes the user testing? --DotComCTO
The guys (with some small help from me) are working madly to allow people to suitably ignore their families over Christmas. So keep them in your prayers Cheers Pip
