Unfortunately, no. Apparently, there isn't any options for controls in the game, period. Except for classic controls, which is useless for controllers.
This is an extremely old game but I am wondering anyone played this on is x? The price has dropped to 99 cents and I want to buy it
The new version with Supergiant as the publisher is available: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bastion-by-supergiant-games/id1467063160 The full game unlock is currently free, presumably so those who’ve already purchased it won’t have to do so again, so download and unlock while you can.
Yes, thank you for the heads up.... this is easily in my top 3 ARPGs ever.... freak'n love it, and the iOS version is outstanding.
Two questions: So, is it currently free for everyone or for those who previously purchased it only? I got the game in my purchased list, and it seems it can be downloaded judging by the icon. With new version available, is it gonna be removed?
just to clarify, does getting this entirely for free require actually first downloading the app, and then making a free in app purchase? I did the “get” in the actual App Store but don’t want to waste data just now if I don’t have to download it. Otherwise if I need to get a free in app right now then I will.
1) It’s free for everyone in the universe until, I believe, the end of the year. The IAP unlock will then become $4.99. 2) The Warner Bros. version in your purchase history has already been pulled from the App Store and will not be supported moving forward. 3) You need to download it and purchase the IAP from within the game itself.
@metalcasket thanks, that's actually pretty generous! The game still has a lot to offer. Even after all those years the narrative is one of a kind. It's impressive. If there's anyone out there who missed it for whatever reason, they're in for a treat.
This will be my first time with Bastion, but if its anything close to Transistor, I’m in for a treat for sure! I’d like to ask how is replayability in Bastion? Are we done when the story over? Is there something like NG+?
Probably going to give this a go. Never played this before. What are the iPhone/iOS controls like? Are they good?
I think the description in the AppStore says something about NG+. The original version didn’t I think. I have it but didn’t get to finish it. It’s really good. This really is a generous treat. I’ve downloaded this version and I’m starting over again because it’s worth it
it’s from the same developer. Transistor was released thanks to success of a Bastion. There’s a lot of similarities. it wasn’t previously. Might’ve been added over time. I don’t remember necessity to play it again. But it’s been years, so who knows. You can choose either classic virtual joystick on the left and action buttons on the right or tap to move controls with automatic attack feature. I personally prefer classic controls but it’s disabled by default. Luckily, it’s like the first thing during the tutorial that is offered - to switch back to classic controls. I don’t know about 3rd party controller support though. I’m never using controllers on iPad.
