I've been playing through this on Steam, but now I will have to get this for my Ipad as well for a buck. Unbelievable.
Yea, the iPad 1 is getting outdated. Some apps and a lot of games are no longer supporting it. iPad's to me are pretty big investments, plan to use them for more than 2-3 years. Got mines in Dec 2010 so its reaching the 2 years mark. Think I can wait a couple months just to see what Apple throws out particularly in March. If the iPad Mini gets updated with a Retina display, A6 chip, 1GB RAM, that would be the perfect portable gaming device. Anyways to Bastion. I think it should have been mentioned in best games for 2012 on iTunes.
I know right? I REALLY want a new iPad, but I also feel like I *just* bought mine (even though its years old). How the heck can I justify spending like a grand on a new one? Even worse I just bought my iphone 5 and Im kicking myself for cheaping out and getting 16GB, ive had it like a month and am constantly struggling with space -_-
Enough of a price drop that Im picking this up. I had said I want buying more till I got more money but can't pass this up.
yeah as long you have an ipad 2 and always go 64gb on every device, because you will definitely need/want/use the space. as you'll be more frustrated finding space, deleting apps etc. So far with my 64gb devices ipad, ipod touch, iphone haven't had a problem with space, my main problem is not deleting games i no longer play.
Given the few supply chain rumours we do have, and the indications that Apple isn't presently in possession of a hardware combination that will let them add a Retina display to the existing mini without increasing its current size and weight, or significantly reducing the battery life, you shouldn't expect to see a Retina mini (and certainly not one with 4th-gen iPad internals) before September or October next year, if not later. I'd be surprised if the normal iPad saw a new model before the end of 2013, actually; the 4th-gen was clearly an update designed to bring all of Apple's new devices in line with the Lightning connector, as well as a chance to discontinue and replace the 3rd-gen, which was flawed and had issues powering its own screen right out of the gate. Apple is clearly aiming at a particular core market with multiple A5/512MB devices right now, and developers are primarily designing with those as the focus over the highest-end devices. The 4th-gen iPad is barely being stressed at all by most existing software, so a processor bump in three months time is hardly warranted, especially considering the backlash over the last one; the difference in this case is that any minor update they could add in March 2013 would be completely unnecessary - the one we got at the end of this year was only fixing/adding something the device should have had in March 2012. I could see Apple potentially announcing that all new iPads produced would be lighter and thinner without actually releasing them as a separate "next generation" product, but no specific iPad 5 or Retina mini in March, I say.
Another reason is to bring the yearly iPad update schedule to coincide with the Holiday shopping season with the added benefit of updating one more part of their hardware to use the Lightning connector.
Bastion for a buck... unbelievable. Thank you Steve Jobs, even though you never would have planned it that way. The iPad Mini is exactly the way Apple wants it to be because of customer demand for a sleek, light weight tablet, with excellent battery life. They really hit the nail on the head with the iPad Mini. It's not likely to change until battery technology improves. For gaming, look elsewhere.
I don't know what Steve Jobs has to do with Bastion being on sale. Also, why would you look elsewhere for a gaming tablet even after listing all those pros?
