It all depends on what you like best, the iPhone version is excellent and if you are on the go (or in the bathroom) then don't hesitate to play it on your phone. If you are home and feel like using a bigger screen then the Mac
I went for the Iphone version, and I like it. It was perfect to play while I was at my parents house for christmas.
If you prefer to aim manually during ranged combat, go with the desktop version. The iOS version, in spite of all its excellence, sadly does not allow the player to control this aspect of combat, reducing the interactivity and skill somewhat.
So I recently started playing this, and I'm really enjoying it so far. The only complaint I have is that MFI controller support is a bit half-assed. You can't navigate any of the menus with the controller. I just got the AV adapter for my phone, so the menu thing is kind of a pain when I plug my phone into the TV and kick back to play the game with my controller. I have to keep my phone right next to me so I can manage the stuff that they didn't program the controller to handle.
Yup. For couch+tv gaming Oceanhorn, Inferno 2, Shadowgun and Goblin Sword among a few others are better coz of the full MFi support. Im kinda sad couldnt play Kinetic Damage or Dead Effect this way... Or Bastion.
I have just discovered a little (but very disappointing) problem: Bastion runs just fine on my iPad 3 even on iOS 9 beta 1; but strangely enough, it crashes on the iPhone 6 with iOS 9 beta 1. I know, I know: it's a beta, I shouldn't complain. But it's not crashing on iPad! An old model! Maybe it depends on iOS 9 features that are disabled on the iPad being older than the iPhone 6. But maybe there are already issues on iPhone 6 and the problem is not the iOS being a beta. Do you know of any issues with Bastion on iPhone 6?
There is absolutely no such option in the iPhone version of Bastion. If there was, what could I possibly gain by pretending there was not? I like a conspiracy theory as much as the next fella on the internet (actually, I don't), but this one is just one Roswell too far I have even been in contact with the developers on this issue, and was given the response that they have no plans to implement manual aim for ranged weapons in the iOS version:
The release of Transistor on iOS has prompted me to play Bastion for the first time and I'm loving it so far. Better late than never, hey!
Same with me I havent touch transistor I bought this when it came out but never really open the app lol
Aw man bastion is a classic.. I also reinstalled the game.. I've beat it several times but still have a few things left to accomplish..
I used touch controls, so probably shouldn't respond to someone using an MFI controller, but this game is not difficult. It's very very good, but it's not hugely challenging.
