I almost completed the game...and I do not want it to finish (I'm in last stage but between memories, idols and all the optional things there is so much to do!). Story and the way it's told (from vague and strange to finally when all comes together) are incredible together with the audio-visual representation. To anyone who has bought the soundtrack too...DO NOT LISTEN IT TILL YOU COMPLETED THE GAME. Some songs will give you shivers when found in game. Probably the best action RPG/Adventure I ever played (on any platform from Intellevision to XBOX360). Strange the 360 demo did nothing to me. Simply amazing (using virtual controls). Ending is damn hard too, trying to find the right weapon combo Another strange thing...I had some frame rate drops in early stages (iPad 3)....they disappear in later stages, even with dozens of enemies moving on screen. Anyway, simply an amazing game and I dare say a perfect port. It truly raises the bar for...almost everything in the AppStore regarding so called hardcore experiences. In retrospect many other ports, even good and praised ones, are laughable. I hope to see the game on top of the charts for long....as a memento for every other dev and an incentive for Supergiant to do something new
Oh my, oh my... What a game!!!!!!! Easily the best i have played in this platform and not only... For anyone with iPad 2 or 3 do a favor to yourself and get it... Just a tip... don't play it on the go or in between stuff to do... Find some free time for quality gaming and let the game do the rest...
Yeah, what a game! Square Enix got to rethink their pricing and quality of their ports cause of this Gem
Pricing, yep, might be true. There is no developer I'd like to see App Store sales figures from as much as from Squuenix, to see if their unique iOS strategy pays off. Quality-wise, after the release of The World Ends With You? I'd say Bastion and TWEWY are both so brilliantly ported (in spite of the very few flaws, such as the mingle system in TWEWY) that any comparisons are moot, and can yield little beyond "lots and lots of awesomeness"
Just completed the game. 2 am here. I have tears. It was absolutely INCREDIBLE. The final sequences are even better than the whole game.
Awesome game, BUT... Crashed after the first major choice at the end, but before the second. (trying to avoid spoilers here...) iPad 2 latest version of IOS. I'll try again tomorrow and see if I can finish. Best IOS game I've played in a long time, if not ever.
Really enjoying the game. Also, bought some songs on iTunes. BTW, after taking a drag from the pipe, I'm taken to a level where the are three areaS where I can return to the Bastion, but die every time. What's going on here?
*very minor spoilers below* I read this before I played the last area and the entire time this was stuck in the back of my head, and sure enough after the first choice my game crashed starting me back at the Bastion on reboot. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have a solid run going through the last area with all idols equipped I'm not sure I'll have the same luck the next time through. Anyone with an iPad 2 actually finish the game or is this a universal issue, I really don't want to power through the last area just to have it happen again.
I finished it second time through. Shut everthing down and rebooted just in case it was a memory issue.
Guess I will be boycotting Warner Bros published games.. Bastion will not be released in Norwegian app store.
considering they don't release games in your country, I don't think they'll see that as too big of a loss... =o/
