    Hi Guys & Girls,

My name is Rob, and I work at Player One Sports. We are a developer/publisher in Mobile/iPhone/Brew games, and our new strategy is to communicate more with the people who pay our wages...YOU THE CUSTOMER.

I will be about to answer queries and questions, but also to give you up to the date information about our games.

So, my first post is to let you all know about Bass Fishing Mania that has just gone live.

This is following on from our successful J2ME mobile phone version (8/10 Silver Award From pocketgamer). The game continues to immerse the players in an exciting world of Bass Fishing, with a beautifully rendered environment. To win competitions you will need to upgrade your tackle in 'Billy Bobs' shack, buying items such as lures, rods, bait, fish radar...lots and lots to buy.

Anyway give it a good play, and be fair. I believe this to be better than Flick Fishing, but I know how good the original J2ME was. For £1.19, it is worth a try.

If you have any queries or questions, post them here and I will help.

Please be productive, and I will be as productive and proactive as possible.

Look forward to a great relationship with you, the customer!!!

    Cheers Guys and Girls

Some one beat me to the link, cheers though!

At the moment, no plans. But this is a fast moving market, and if we get a good response for this version, then we may go forward.

Would like to know your thoughts on the game once you get it anyway, all feedback (good or bad) is good, as long as it is fair :D

Since I'm at work (and thus unable to really check anything out on the iTunes store etc.) I figured I'd ask some questions here.

Something I either haven't discovered or is missing from Flick Fishing (IMO) is the ability to save your biggest fish, be it in the tackle box or in some sort of fish tank. Is something like this encorporated in Bass Fishing Mania?

What are some of the features that you all are most proud of? I see that there are lots of upgrades to buy, which is wonderful, but what else is there?

hey PlayerOne, welcome to the TA forums! Your game looks pretty f'n sweet! Can you travel around in the boat and search around lakes for the best spots? Or does the game just plop you down in the water somewhere? I like to nose around the lake. :)

Do you guys have plans to bring any other games to the iPhone? The whole sports arena is really lacking compared to other genres on the App Store.

I'm a big fishing game fan, and I'd really like something a tad more realistic than Flick Fishing. Does it deliver on that front?

Does anyone have a video they can upload of this game?

I could copy and paste the 'Application Description' from iTunes, but I am not sure whether this is allowed here. In answer to the question about saving your Bass, it keeps records of the fish that you catch (currently not an image, but maybe soon).

    The main features are:
    * Beautifully rendered environments
    * Buy and upgrade all of your tackle
    * Motion sensitive fishing (i.e. Flick to strike fish, move to pull line etc)
    * Continuing on the back of a great J2ME game
    * Easy, intuitive controls

All comments on extra features are great, as we will (and do) take these into consideration when designing the new instalments!

    Cheers People.

Thanks WoflgangK, we (with our developers) do try to make sweet looking games.

We have a good roadmap for the next 12 months, full of sports games. Hopefully I will have more news for you in 1-2 weeks regarding these ;)

On the note of having more sports games, I would absolutely love a game similar to the old school NBA Jam for the Genesis. It seems like something as retro as that may be doable on the iPhone/Touch and I'd get it in a heartbeat!

I agree with the fact that their needs to be more sports games out there of better quality.

I am a pub sports fan (Pool/Snooker/Darts etc), and I am a little disappointed at the moment with the apps out atm.

There seems to be no game that encapsulates everything in one, just games with a few good features (and lots of poor ones).

    Bass Fishing Mania

A late comer iphone port. But competition is good as long as it moves the frontier forward.

I have not tried this, I must have overlooked it due to the cheap photo + drawn graphics. I'll try the lite version today when I get home.

On image graphics alone Bass Fishing Mania looks much better, but it's the gameplay I'd be interested in.

    Thanks for the tip!

We do try to create visually stunning games. Coming from J2ME, we found that people prefered a simple, great fun game with great graphics than vice versa.

Anyone in here actually had a pop at BFM yet?

You're telling me that people DON'T like a complicated, boring game with terrible graphics? ...I'm SHOCKED!

I think that a better initial marketing strategy would have been to release this game at $0.99 in order to get early visibility in the shadows of Flick Fishing and iFishing. As it stands, the game may get lost in the vast sea of the App Store...

I bought this last night. Seems ok but the frame rate is horrible. 3-4 fps makes the game almost unplayable.
