    Hi guys.

i basically dont use and sync my ipod with itunes much, so is there anyone here that might answer my question please?

All my apps are downloaded through the ipod itself via the app store. i have 11 pages worth all sorted out into my own liking on the pages. i've never downloaded or synced an app via itunes.

but recently i have. i've downloaded an app into my itunes on my pc. how do i get this single app onto my ipod?

the manual says to go to my device applications tab, then click the 'syncing applications' box, but when i click this not only does the message warn me that all ipod apps and data will be lost and replaced with my itunes apps, but the picture of my device's home screens are also changed.

all i want to do is copy a single app from itunes to my Touch. if i go ahead and apply the sync, will all my pre-installed apps be lost or re-arranged alphabetically?

you can just redownload it from your ipod.

if your itunes library you're using is different from the one you sync your ipod to then yes everything on your ipod will be replaced

yup, i know that :) , but for various reasons i wont go into i want to copy it from my itunes account on my pc. i cant find a quick simple way of copying apps across to my device like you can with individual albums or music tracks.

ooh..well you'll have to sync it then

I guess you'll have to do a bit of restoring? I think you can Transfer Purchases to copy all the apps installed on your iPod into iTunes, then back your iPod up, and then sync..if everything gets erased then you can restore from the backup and reinstall all the apps

yup, just figured that out, trouble is, when i then click the sync button it automatically puts all my apps on all the pages in alphabetical order. i right pain in the butt.

never mind, thanks for the info :)

Restoring from the backup should put back all the apps' data as well as the order they were in :)
