Well I know I did my part yesterday to give everyone a I played a boost :) I think I won maybe twice, though the victories were pretty nice (something like 16 and 20 points respectively) because my Win Points total is so low. Looking forward to getting stomped on some more this weekend.

The contest clearly states you must send it BY July 10. Which means 11:59pm on July 9th. Thats when the stats for those that entered was saved.

The actual winpoint contest is already underway.

I'm sorry but deadline by July 10th technically is 11:59pm of July 10th. It's NOT 11:59pm on July 9th. That would be deadline by July 9th. This year's incoming tax filing deadline is April 15th. It is on the 15th not 14th...

You are wrong. Let me explain. If it says deadline by July 10th, that means you must sign up BY July 10th. So what is the definition of July 10th? it is at 12:00 A.M. on July 10th. So you had to sign up BY that time. If you sign up after, then you obviously did not sign up by July 10th. And btw, a deadline is different than signing BY a certain time. A deadline on a day means that something is due on a particular day, so as long as you turn in whatever is due on that day, no matter if it is 12:00 A.M. on that day or 11:59 P.M., then you have met the deadline.

    +1

    2 quotes from com2us:
"The contest begins on Friday sharp.
In other words, Thursday midnight EST."

"Due to some last minute entries, we will need a few minutes to release the list of Contestants and their current Win Points. (as of 12:01 am EST)"

If you can enter AFTER the contest has started then how is that fair for anyone else that is playing?

Damn! I had a network connection error during a game. Was winning from a very high ranked person! I hate it when this happens!

Yeah, same here... Four effing times in a row. I was about to beat all my guys, and lost connection. Curse my internet. Now I only have around 1060 win points; I started with 1130... I'm so pissed.

Edit: OH, AND IT SUCKS WHEN YOU LOSE AGAINST A GUY WITH 800 WIN POINTS BECAUSE YOU LOSE FREAKING CONNECTION.

That is a bit bogus. If the connection is lost, no one should win.

It's probably coz of excess server load due to the competion!

that's an even better reason for it to be a default tie

But then there would be many people who would just turn of their wifi if they are losing!

I understand, but in the same respect, if I'm playing and I get cut off for a reason that's not my fault, I shouldn't be penalized either. I suppose the other option would be that the players agree on a method for handling drop-offs.

there is no answer to this, in every case the system can be abused. I hope this doesn't become too widespread... I've had games terminated by highscorers protecting their lead... just means you should try and work hard against people your strength...

Does quiting make you lose less points than you actually would have lost in a defeat?

I just want to know why I keep getting such a weak connection whenever I join a match; I don't lose connection whenever I'm just plain using my iTouch. =/
