So while Cydia-Surfing today I came across a tweak called Barrel. And what barrel does is quite neat. It adds a 3D cube effect to your homescreen pages. Much like the Ubuntu Cube Desktop in Linux (video below) this is really cool and thought the jailbreakers here would be interested in picking it up.
Wow, that looks cool. Have you tried it yourself? If so, does it work smoothly? Does it get annoying? Is it worth the $2.99?
It's awesome!!!! Works flawlessly and is not annoying at all. Its more a novelty than anythig else but its still a neat tweak to have.
Ok, now I've download it and tried it out. And I agree with iphoneprogrammer. It works great, the motion is perfectly smooth and it looks so professional that it could easily have been an official Apple feature of iOS. I prefer the outside mode (non-default). Very nice, I definitely recommend.
If you do it correctly and only install things that I suggest you should be fine. I have experienced every issue known to man when it comes to jailbreaking.
What's even better is that it works alongside Paralax. Paralax is another amazing tweak that I am using as well. Video below. The quality sucks and this guys voice is crazy annoying but just mute it.
Help w/ barrel I have heard about barrel and am dying to get it but, i can't find it in cydia when i search all packages or under recent changes. Can someone who has barrel copy the source where the found it in their reply? Thanks
Is it really worth the $2.99 though? I mean almost all of the really awesome apps from Cydia, some of them with much more complex features, are free. A different style of scrolling for $2.99?
People still do it, actually I'm pretty sure most Cydia users use it! ********** is pirating but hey I dont see the cops coming after all my friends who have downloaded to much free stuff....
