Nice, that makes sense, as there's an entire 2k texture sheet that we don't have to load for those modes, I guess there's just not quite enough RAM to squeeze in Story Mode
Actually, there just might be enough as something interesting has happened. I decided to give rebooting a try, but when I did, Bardbarian would not open at all. It would instantly close every time. So I reinstalled the game through Testflight. Now I have successfully loaded into story mode twice so far. I was able to make it to the first boss wave which had the stuttering in the previous version, and much like survival mode, the stuttering with that boss is gone! But he still kicked my ass so I decided to jump into endless to earn some gold. The game returned to the shop menu with no problem but crashed while loading Endless. I don't know a damned thing about game programming, but it feels to me like you are so close to having a fully functioning game running on our outdated devices that I ask that you please do not give up on making it work.
I'm in the peculiar situation as someone else in this thread: I cannot log out of Game Center. As soon as I leave the GC section of Settings my logout is effectively nullified. Every game still recognizes my Game Center login, including Bardbarian. Neither rebooting nor Airplane Mode helps. I only have one iDevice and due to the known bugs, the net result of this is that I cannot play Bardbarian anymore. I applied to your TestFlight crew and I would really appreciate it if you could green-light me to download the patched build. Otherwise, I can only congratulate you on your phenomenal game. I'm looking forward to the future of Brad and our unnamed true hero (the racoon).
FWIW, I loaded the patched build last night and have had no issues playing all the way through to the final wave (with GC turned on). Almost have everything entirely unlocked now, so far it seems like the Engineer is the best unit for me.
that reminds me, why did you guys decide to use a publisher? and bulkypix specifically, i've always associated them with crapware, and was borderline thinking this was going to be more of the same... what did they bring to the table besides more fees from your proceeds?
*googles how expedited updates work* Possible reason for request is a major bugfix update. It doesn't cost money or whatever... "Expedited reviews are granted on a limited basis and we cannot guarantee that every request will be expedited." Doesn't sound like there's any reason not to try considering the bugs, and you wanted to try... So why didn't they try? I'm waiting on that update before I play... I bought the game already, but I can wait.
It's moronic and self-serving but one reason could be if expedited updated are granted on a "limited basis" per developer/publisher account and BulkyPix has 50+ games loaded into it's account they may not have spent any grace for expedited reviews or may want to conserve that possibility for other situations. To me the quote implies Apple might at some point say "you've requested too many expedited updates, no more."
Anybody else noticed monsters stop appearing shortly after starting a new game? due to this, i am unable to continue playing. Hopefully the update will fix this, since this one is just too great a game to leave it alone, even for a while...
Hey I'm just wondering you said the freezes were starting when we were suppose to get certain achievements which weren't working properly. I've got the new version off testflight so shouldn't those achievements have shown up right away when playing again?
Yup... Doesn't matter what part of the day I start, in the middle of the first wave no more enemies appear after the first couple... This only started happening after I started using the engineer... Can't wait for the update... Hopefully all the bugs and issues will be fixed...
Bingo. They don't want to waste it on us, was the impression I got 80% chance is goes live today anyways, so fingers crossed...
I had a problem with the game locking up at the title screen. Never could get in the game itself. I found the solution though, I had to delete several things to make extra room. If the game doesn't have somewhere around 300 megs of free space on my iPad 4 64gb ios7 it won't run. I have downloaded and played well over 2500 games and had no problems with the exception of three or four of them, so it looks like this may need to be optimized?
