I have to add my two-bits here as I've played it now for a few days and can honestly say that it's a very enjoyable game. It opens up nicely as you build your cadre of adventurers, with the difficulty always challenging your ability to put together a team just good enough to win but in a way that allows you to level. If you like gear/loot/character collecting with a large dose of resource management rather than RPG-like elements then I highly recommend the game. The developer seems quite responsive and very nice, so I can support them from this respect. And for anyone worried about IAP, I haven't felt the need to buy anything as of yet, and if you've read my comments regarding freemium games in the past you'll know that I'm hypercritical of the pay model in general. But I feel like the initial dollar spent buys you a very good pick up and play game for a few rounds, with no need for additional expenditure. If you feel like paying more to advance more quickly you certainly can, but I haven't hit a point where I've felt bilked at all. But I think it's the nature of this game, where I wouldn't necessarily want to it down and play for a full hour.. It's definitely more of a standing in line, pop it open kind of game for me... and in that respect it succeeds extremely well. I highly recommend it!
This makes me sad. I never had anyone attack me and I never managed to attack someone. Is "pvp" based on the levels of your characters? Cause my main team is at least level 20 or higher. I want to use my warlock to one shot enemies with its 1.2k damage meteor strike and I want enemies to attack me so they fight my 3 glads and healer. Btw I only spent a dollar on this game which wasn't really necessary. My team is massively op and I have only played for two days so so much for P2W. Of course people can just buy 100s of ap pots and get way stronger than me but I am sure I can beat some paying players.
You either didn't do it legit or your lying about only spending 1 dollar because that ain't possible otherwise to get a full team of 20+ in 2 days, ud run out of ap and you would have no way to collect that much gold to lvl them all up
Its pretty easy. While trying to find good S class characters(just change one number in the code and see if the stats or character changes). I scanned a crap load of guys into my castle. I leveled them up to level 7 and sold them for a lot more than I upgraded them for(after level 7 its starts to not get profitable to upgrade and sell). I earned like 20k+ profit from each guy and I scanned tons of them. You get one free ap pot in the beginning(I used all my ap before being forced to use it). I bought 2 and I got 2 from dailies. Not to mention clicking on a fast bird gives you 1-10 ap. So yea its very doable. Using a barcode generator is a bit cheap but yea I don't think you can call that cheating though. I would not have made it there so fast though without prior knowledge. I played before and made it pretty far but my game glitched so I had to restart.
AP is the big problem with this game. It turns it into a cash grab more so than a lot of other games simply because you can't play on unless you buy AP. I don't want to wait for a timer to play. This type of game one likes to play continuously and with the IAP system used here its impossible because you very soon run out of AP. I ran out very quick and wasn't going to buy some at $.99 a pop. Every 15 minutes I have to stop or buy AP?? That's ludicrous. I can play Real Racing much longer than that. This IAP model is far worse than RR. Game deleted as unplayable and unacceptable. I want to play not wait. Game of the week should and must take into account playability not just content. I bought it on the TA review Not a good game because of AP let alone GOTW.
It really isn't. It's cheap little smartphone game that's fun for a few minutes at a time. Timers aren't a problem if you are only going to be playing a game for 10 mins at a time.
Hello, I've had an interest in how the game generate something from the barcode. this is on V1.0, I didn't test it with 1.1 yet. So far i've only covered 13 characters code (in QR code format using https://www.the-qrcode-generator.com/) since it's the most caracters the game can parse at once. Proof of that : Use 0123456789012 and then 01234567890123, the game will tell you that you cannot scan the same barcode. For units: Any 13 chars barcode is like this : abc000d000000 Where a,b,c and d are numbers that determine the class of your unit as follow : x = (a+b+c+d) modulo 10 the value of x is the type of you character following this table : Code: 0 warrior 1 archer 2 magician 3 pikeman 4 wizard 5 ranger 6 priest 7 sorcerer 8 gladiator 9 warlock Each number in the barcode is used for building your units stats or his class like this : Code: For the barcode 0123456789abc 0 character class 1 crit 2 speed 3 stamina 4 crit 5 def 6 speed 7 hp 8 stamina 9 atack a hp b speed c def After some tries I determined that stats are class dependant (glad has more hp than warlock) whatever the combination but not the rolls for the stats, if your code give your glad his maximum lvl 1 hp, it will also give your warlock his maximum lvl 1 hp (if you change the class with the first digit) Incidentally here's the best possible code far any char: Code:
x492580731695 Where x is the class 0 pikeman 1 wizard 2 ranger 3 priest 4 sorcerer 5 gladiator 6 warlock 7 warrior 8 archer 9 magician Example for a glad : 369hp/70atk/43def/21spd/77sta/49crt master glad
As for the items, i've only covered the armor/weapon as of now but here's the result. Weapon have 2 patterns (Xs are numbers): XX0X0X00X00X0 and it's opposite 00X0X0XX0XX0X The first is the type of the object, the second is the bonus (Inchant) Weapon stats are determined by 4 values 00AB0000000BA Where A is the first stat of the object(def/atk) and B is the second one(sta/spd) Inchant are determined by some black magic (well, not really ) Sum all the number of the inchant patterns, do a modulo 20 on the result and use this table : Code: 1 hp 2 atk 3 def 4 spd 5 sta 6 crit the rest does not grant any enchant HTML: Exemple for 0123456789012 : We use the pattern of the inchant which is 00X0X0XX0XX0X with 0123456789012 we get --2-4-67-90-2 (2+4+6+7+9+0+2) modulo 20 = 10 Resulting item for this code: Heavy armor 15def/5sta No inchant Exemple for 0123456784012 : (9 is swapped for a 4) (2+4+6+7+4+0+2) modulo 20 = 5 Resulting item for this code: Reptile scales 15def/2sta Inchant :2 sta You probably noticed that the armor isn't the same but this isn't important as only the skin and the name of the armor change, the class restrictions and stats are keept the same I found out the best inchant roll with this technique while looking at the list of code on the first page. ( I won't spoil the fun ) Inchants best roll can have low value (+6 on an armor for glad) but also high value (+15 on armor only for magic using characters) Hope this won't spoil the fun of searching the very best barcodes. Ps: English isn't my first language so don't hesitate to correct me^^ Edit: btw if you need some ap fast you can change the time of your device, but be careful and keep an ap potion (the daily one or whatever) with you at all time because when you'll be returning to the right time your ap will be negative and you'll need it (that awesome coding skillz from the dev, not checking if ap are negative)
Yeah. Was about to buy it until I saw all the IAP on the Appstore. Decided to go on this thread and decided to definitely not buy it because of the wait timers and how crappy the IAP system seems to be. Might have been ok as a free game, but for something to pay upfront for? I'm guessing the developer has plans to make this free anyways when it's popularity starts to go down and make it free to jump start it's popularity. It's a good marketing tactic for freemium-minded games. But no thanks, wait timers is generally a definite no-go for me. Thanks for the info Toucharcade forum members.
I don't see why this is a big deal. Okay the game casually or with free time here and there. It plays well alongside other games. And the timer is pretty quick anyway. I'm much more concerned about game balance and so far it seems good for me. Too early to know, though.
Thats incredible. The nearly found the ideal code but didn't bother to try t make sure everything was perfect. Was just missing some crit and speed. I had +15 speed and +15 crit on armors. Weapons and armors were pretty complicated so I didn't bother.
Ugh, dragon tower pet reward is just bad... After struggling between those 20 waves, I just got a harpy!! argh
