That guy nominated by Congress who is building schools for girls in war torn nations for one.

Or how about the parents of Neda Agha-Soltan, the poor girl killed during the protests in Iran?

Or any number of aid workers, people directly working for peace in war torn nations, conflict mediators, etc.

Or you could just continue with your knee jerk reaction painting all American's with a broad brush rather than looking into the "why" of the situations and opinions existing within our diaspora.

Even if all the black folk in the US voted in a national election, theirs would still be a minority vote (no pun intended). They are severely outnumbered by whites and have been surpassed in recent years by the Hispanic population.

And as someone of Latino heritage myself who has had quite a bit of experience with newcomer Latinos into the US as well as the older generations, I can state without a shadow of a doubt that a black American man winning Latino voters over is no guarantee.

The man won because he wasn't Bush, and he wasn't from Bush's party, and because he became a media darling.

That said, the gloss is coming off and people are beginning to realize that he's simply a Democrat, and although voting for a black man in the US is cause for a great deal of back patting, voting out a Republican and replacing him with a Democrat is no great shakes: we do it quite often, and the reverse as well. People are coming to grips with the fact that we need more choices.

Reagan was the downfall of the soviets, and the Berlin wall was knocked down because of him. Of course I'm serious. On the other hand, Obama was nominated 12 days after he was inaugarated and he has done NOTHING. Tell me why he deserved this award.

I'm not saying Obama deserved the award, but saying that Regan deserved it is absurd. And saying that Regan was responsible for the downfall of the Soviet Union and thus the end of the Cold War is equally absurd.

Yeah there's a book about how Regan nearly turned the cold war hot, not good, at least Obama hasent almost caused a nuclear war that would destroy most life on the planet. Regan wasn't that great of a president

Because of Obama's passive attitude, he allowed North Korea to launch ICBMs in our direction. He plans on getting rid of nuclear weapons, but that would leave us vulnerable to the psychotic governents who would use nukes at any given chance. There are alot of countries who have nukes (including china and Russia) and North Korea and Iran aren't that fat behind. How is that peaceful? My definition of peace is knowing you and your country is safe from danger. This can only occur with a more powerful military, not a weak one like Obama is trying to turn us in to.

Oh, now I get it... your primary news source is Fox.

BTW, i distinctly remember North Korea launching test missiles in our direction multiple times during Bush's term, but perhaps I'm just mistaken... just like how I missed that part in the history books where Regan took down the Communists

As long as no control-freak liberal is attempting to take my 2nd amendment rights away through sneaky backdoor legislation then I don't care what they do, I swear every time I hear some whiny liberal talk about more pointless gun control (to secretly give the screwed up government more power) I go and buy another 30 round Mag-pul. I loved Reagan, a president who actually let the country live freely on not try to take on the role of Big Daddy pisspump liberal like Joe Biden or lying Bill Clinton? Shame on Reagan for not being ignorant and let Americans have more of a voice than the ignorant politicians in government.

I thought a lot of things of Bill Clinton, but being 'ignorant' wasn't one of them.

Yes it is the Nobel Peace Prize but at the end of the day it is just another subjective award.
