Some good guesses. We'll give it a few days more and pick a few winners.

The answer is in someway related to why the game isnt out yet. Woulda shoulda coulda been but something about Frogmans DNA is holding him back ;)

I'd say that rabbit is standing on that frog because there can only be one ultimate jumper...and it's the rabbit...plus he had something to prove after that whole "slow and steady wins the race" thing with that tortoise.

    Two more answers:

    1) The Rabbit is Apple, wearing a "power" tshirt. So Apple is not approving the app because of suspected trademark infringement.

    2) The rabbit represents your guilty conscience for hyping this vaporware.

    okay...

    1) that's not a power tshirt
    2) If this game is vaporware then I guess Karate Champ wasnt released by us today to be closely followed by this game.
    No soup for you!

No soup at all? I've made the best guesses so far in my estimation? :)

    1) well, the character is nonsense, apparently. This from my Japanese friend:

    2) vaporware remains vaporware until it is not... :) And wow, hard to imagine two more totally different directions in two games. One a beautifully modernized take on a classic, the other about as faithful of a low res version of a classic possible down to the game console controls. now if you could pull that off with Qix and Donkey Kong I'd be interested...

That's a bit unfair given they have preview builds of the game out to sites and announced the thing all of 3 months ago, but how you want to apply slang is your own business. That said, Qix is indeed awesome! Now hand over the Frogman app RevCon

I guess the term 'vaporware' has come to mean "any product not released according to my personal schedule." Those of us old enough to remember when it was first coined (to describe a Microsoft practice of announcing products that it had no intention of developing as a way to destroy their competition), however, find the kind of usage displayed by rocklobster as nearly hysterical. On other platforms, games are always announced months, sometimes years, before they're delivered. Revolutionary Concepts made their first announcement about this game in February, a little more than 3 months ago -- assuming that the game arrives in June, that still seems to me like a perfectly reasonable timeline.

Give me a few days and I'll make you a preview of a game that allows you to really fly amongst gorgeous winged air nymphs while using your ogres to scalp nazis. ☺ Calling the situation vaporware may be hyperbolic but it is not hysterical. Mostly I'm just ribbing RC, but RC did say early April. Still looking forward to it but the wait has got on my nerves more than increased my anticipation. And I am old enough to remember...

Yeah, but could you deliver a working build to beta testers and media? ;)

Notice that I did qualify hysterical with "nearly." I do find "vaporware" to be about as overused a hyperbole as "ripoff." It tends to provoke much more than it illuminates.

And to answer the next most obvious question - if the review process goes smoothly then that day is perhaps as few as 5 days away :)

Our next post will be an update on where in the queue 'Frogman' (if that is indeed his real name ;) sits.

Thanks to all who played along and we hope you enjoy the game, now go buy Karate Champ hehe :)

It's a rabbit's head, not a japanese character. I don't know why it took us this long to catch that. Well played RevCon...
