    I got it.

At first, it seemed like it was going to be awesome just from the title screen and music.

The actual controls I don't like at all. Very loose and very low-grav feeling. Seems very imprecise. If you didn't like Super Monkey Ball, I doubt you'd like this. HydroTilt had much less frustrating control scheme based on just a few minutes play.

    Ball-X looks promising...
    I've not played either.

Ball-X has the potential to be good, but the controls and physics make it impossible to play. Your ball only has two speeds, slow, and then uncontrollably fast. The stages seem kind of confusing and difficult to navigate as well. It looks nice and has a solid frame rate, but they need to fix the controls before anyone else considers buying it.

Ball-X looks like a knock off of Marble Blast Gold. I want MBG SOOO badly on the iPhone, and this looks very similar to it, but I'm going to pass for only 16 levels. :p

Hydrotilt seems to be one to go for. It's the only one of the two I've tried and I can definitely recommend it.

I would go with HydroTilt, I only have this and not Ball-X, but HydroTilt seems really well built!

HydroTilt seems really fun so far. Ball-X is unplayable in it's current state. Keep an eye on it maybe.

I was looking for hints and tips on Ball-X and came across this site. Nice site :) I have to say Ball-X is not too bad of a game, not hard to control or anything, and HydroTilt I find is also a very cool game, not too bad, but I hit the roof at the incredulous response from Twisted Arcade product support when I contacted them requesting info:

    info@twistedarcade.com
    Dear Twisted Arcade,

I’m very much enjoying your game (Ball-X) but after a few goes I can’t seem to get past level 3 Green “The Swimming Pool”. Can you provide any hints or tips or maps?

    Regards

    Steve Kims

    Response from Twisted Arcade was:

    <S. Kims>,

We do everything in our power to provide in-game instructions for our games so we don’t waste our time answering dumb questions such as yours. In future, read the instructions first and play the game more than a few times before contacting us.

Although the game is clearly marked as 4+, perhaps a simpler game would be better suited to your needs. Ball-X can be a tricky game for some of the less attentive younger audience. If you require additional assistance ask an adult to help.

Needless to say I was floored! I’ve never contacted product support before, are they all this rude? I still like their game tho’ - Maybe I should write back to them?

I might consider buying the game based on the response alone. That's classic!

    NO WAY !
how can a dev be that rude, i guess this will be a company that wont listen to it's customers then, it's a shame, as this could be great, i'd say hydrotilt was more fun though.

That's hilarious. I've never, ever seen customer service that bad before.

I worked a lot of retail before and I've said things like that to customers, but never to somebody who asked for help. I'm not sure if I think these guys are complete jerks, or if they're completely awesome.:D
