I sold my iPad 2, buy BG:EE ran fine on it, so I think it's a fair bet thatBG2:EE will run fine also.
Ahh, I just assumed you provided links to the manuals from the original PC release, since using Dropbox seemed counter intuitive as Beamdoh provides easy to access links to their updated manuals for the iPad release...
Can you guys help please. I didn't like BG I. I found the characters too small and there was too much of a learning curve figuring out what command was what. And navigating character was a real pain. How's this different, better? I'm using ipad 4. (With view to purchase)
I hope this hasn't already been asked, but I am wondering how the save feature works. I tend to play in 5-10 min intervals with these games but REALLY loved the old BGs and would love to play them again....but if it is like Shadowrun Returns is, where you have to get the checkpoints to save then I will just have to skip it like I did that game unfortunately. So can anyone tell me how the save system works?
You can save anytime, anywhere and there are MANY save slots. Saving often at different points is highly recommended.
Are the graphics in BGEE:II ipad version similar to the graphics in BGEE:I Ipad version? I mean, does BGEE:II IPad version have better graphics?
Awesome! That was half my fun in the game...fighting things I had zero reason for actually fighting at that level and trying different strategies till I beat them. Gonna download immediately then starting with the 1st one then this one! Thanks!
Loving the game so far. BTW i am stuck on the first dungeon (bad player ok?) Has anyone posted a guide or similar? Thanks
I'm having the same exact feeling. While revamping the game they should have made a better job of adapting it to the platform as well. And what about some basic instructions on how to play the game, how to view tooltips, unlock traps, etc... If you didn't buy the former game you have no idea of how to handle the BGEEII at all. The most fun I had yet was about creating the character. Then after playing 30 minutes, I'm still unsure whether I failed to unlock a "secret" painting by not clicking it correctly or if the game told my character that he failed. Same goes for combat, I fought a few beasts, I couldn't see if I missed my rolls, so you stay there looking at your characters dying having no clue whether you're doing something wrong or not. It's too bad, I didn't have the opportunity to play the games on Pc when the game came out first, and thought that that new ios version would be a good thing, a chance to play during my long plane travels. But right now I lost all motivation and feel that the developers should have spent more time into adapting it correctly.
The developers did a fantastic job on porting both BG 1&2 to IOS. The touch interface they have put into the game works perfectly. Runs and plays 10X better than the originals ever did on PC. Ive been gaming for 25+ years and havent ever read a game manuel to play the game. Learning the controls and features of the game by just playing it is a HUGE part of being a gamer, and part of the fun. Im glad they didnt spend time on a manuel that 99.9% of the people that buy this wouldnt even look at. No offense, but maybe you should download Angry Birds. I think Rovio even shows you how to fling each bird and what its special power does before giving you that new bird to play#
Hello everyone. A quick question. If i have never played Baldur's Gate is it ok to play BG2 and not play BG1? Should i play them in a particular order?
First, if it's your first time playing the game, I would advice you to read the manuals. They're tucked away here:BG2:EE, and here: BG:EE Beamdog ought to have made a link to them in-game, but they neglected to do that. There's also a tutorial in BG:EE, it's advisable for new players to play that. In BG2:EE there's a "How to play" section with small videos. There's also an excellent thread for beginners in their forum, which really is the best way to learn the game. All the best advice is collected in one post. Being a PC gamer, the first thing you should do with a game like this is look at the option screens. Look at this, for example: You'll see that you can enable "To Hit Rolls" which will allow you to see the combat information you mention. Another vital option screen is the Auto Pause options: Those will make the game auto pause whenever any of the criteria is met, and it's vital to your survival that at least some of these is selected, especially for a beginner. You can also pause the game yourself at any time, and I'd advice you to do so whenever you're in doubt. Also, save often, and not just with the quick save. Another advice for a beginner is to tone down the difficulty a notch.
A fountain of wisdom for the beginner in the BG universe: Basic Tips. It's made for BG1, but most of the information is very, very useful for both games. It'll make your play through of any of the two games much more enjoyable from the get go.
They are both great games and the story of BGII follows on from BG. I would play BG then BGII as some of ToB will have zero emotional impact if you mis BG. I never completed ToB on PC back in the before times and I can't wait to complete BG to get to BGII (and regain my damn paladinhood) and then to finally finish ToB.
Thanks for the info. The forum link you posted wasn't quite right. It needs to have "forum." prepended to it. Here's the correct link. Basic Tips.
Does BGEE:II IPad version have better graphics than BGEE:I Ipad version or are they similar? Can I also check on this: In order to see the spell details, do you hold down the spell icon for IPAD version? I keep having trouble with this in BGEE:I. The spells got accidentally casted at times...
