Isn't that Apple technology wonderful?! LOL! Apple would like to remind you that transforming your iOS this manner would result in degrading your transformed device by 1 less generation...
I did not finished BG2 in the past, so I do not really know if the main story is heavily connected, but there're recurring characters. Anyway, I strongly suggest playing BG1:EE, it's an awesome game too. The two games together with all the content could easily give you 200+ hours of playtime. Let's see. You control a party of six members, which only one is generated, the other characters are distinct classes and personalities. The game plays touch to move, and the combat is real time with the option to "freeze time" and give actions to the characters. There's an awesomely deep lore to discover, an intriguing story (which is much stronger in BG2 than in BG1), countless sidequests, and so on. Anyone who likes western RPGs MUST play BG1 and BG2.
Heh I spent at least 60 - 90 hours playing BG1 back in the day. That was a single and quite thorough play through. Never played it again, though I intend to. I burnt myself out playing it that I never actually got far in BG2. So I've still yet to finish it, but I will just need to decide if I want to do it on my iPad or Mac.
Taking less than 40 to 50 hours is like going on a world cruise and sleeping the whole time: took me more than 100 hours, but maybe I just like exploring #
Small question : I bought BG:EE / BG2:EE on PC, but I'm pondering buying it on iPad too. How do controls compare to the PC version ? How hard is it to play compared to keyboard + mouse ? How hard is it to pick an answer in conversations ? Open doors ? And so on.
I've spent over 60 hours on my current play through of. BG:EE, so 10-12 hours must be without really exploring much.. Yes, BG2 is massive, but the first game is pretty goddamned big too... I know most people think the sequel is the best game, but for me it's a tie.
I think One is better but Planescape is the best. (Okay, I can walk away myself) Still have the question: can the player import the old characters from BG1?
The import option is there but not sure how do use it. I think it can also be done using ifunbox or some other 3rd party ap, at least on the PC . Me, I am happy enough with the stock characters available; they have pretty good stats. Re the question about playing compared to PC . iPad is at least as good; tap for left click, hold for right click and can select characters via their portraits. These games were made for touch screens, just came 15 years to soon ## Answers selected by touching until changes colour, no issues at all.
And how do you select, say, 2 characters out of your six characters ? Edit.: Thanks for your answer by the way
"Planescape: Torment" is also an awesome game. To import characters from BG1, you'll have to use the export feature in BG1. Choose "Export", and you'll get an option to open in BG2. iOS doesn't allow to import data from one app to another, but it does allow exporting from one app to another. It's never possible to get the dialog "Open From" in any app or game on iOS, whereas "Open In" is often used in many apps.
There's a "Box select" icon in the lower right corner. Use that to select only some of your characters. Drag the box around the characters you want to select. As far as I know, there's no other way to select only a few of your characters. I believe it's possible on the PC using CTRL while pressing each Avatar, but that's not possible on the iOS version, hence the solution they came up with. It's very rarely you'll need it though. Usually it's enough to select only one character for some special assignment. I only use that for talking to shopkeepers when I want to use the character with the highest charisma to get slightly lower prices. This can also be achieved by moving that character on the top in the avatar row on the right hand side. The one on top does all the talking and will always be in front.
