FLOPPY DISKS ???? The game game out on 4 CD's never on floppy discs... that would be around 1800 floppy's lol
How longs the first one take to beat? I was maybe 4-6 hours into it and my save got deleted. Meant to beat it before this came out but didn't get around to it. Since you can import your character I'm guessing that's a pretty good reason but I don't have as much time to game anymore and two 80-100 hour games back to back makes me apprehensive. Will I miss a ton of story? Anything like the beginning of ME2 for ps3 where you can go through this pretty quick scenario that's gives you a lot of the story of the first game and let's you make the choices you could have made by playing through it?
Phone doesn't look broken, must've not been very hard =p More seriously, are the revamped touch controls from bg1 applied here?
So any early impressions? IAPs? New content/Class Kits? I'm so excited... Sucks to be at work right now with no way to download this. EDIT: 3.8GB required to download and install? How do I import my BG1 toon?
Ok ok kill a man for remembering wrong, i just remembered that it was so long ago so my brain said floppy disks
New to this game. This is a full single-player game with an option for multi-player? Or more MMO style?
The first one has about 10-12 hours of gameplay if I remember correctly; much smaller than BG2. You can dive right into BG2 and create a new character with the same amount of experience as what you're allowed to import from BG1. Personally, I found BG1 to be a much less impressive game than BG2 so you would be jumping into the story just as it's getting good.
This is a full single player adventure with an option for multiplayer if you choose. Definitely not MMO.
Well, BG1 gave me nearly 40 hours of gameplay, though I tried to do all the quests and explore all areas fully.
How vital is it to play the first game when it comes to story? Is it just nice to know or would I be pretty lost without the back story?
Could you fine people give me an idea of what to expect, having never played any BG game before? It's obvious everybody's excited, but I don't even know what the core gameplay is like. I'm well aware I could pull up a gameplay vid on YouTube. I'd like an opinion from TA folks considering any differences the iPad may introduce.
Floppy? You are wrong, came out in 4 cd-rom, if you want i can post a photo of the original package. Then Atari published a dvd-rom version.
wow, we must have played the game far differently... I have played both the first and this one at least a dozen times and (PC) and I have never, ever had a game that clocked in at 10-12 hours... maybe at the low 40 hour mark and the longest being well over the 100 hour mark! Not being mean here, but did you just skip everything? Are you perhaps confusing this somehow with the Gauntlet style games?
Bg1 in ten hour is a incredibile rush. I played bg1 in about 50 hours and bg2 in 140 hours, with all the mission, romance and stronghold.
