Dark and dingy is right. Travelled to Friendly Arm Inn, and arrived while it was nighttime in-game. Couldn't see a thing, even with the brightness on my ipad turned up to full. (The scripted combat when I finally found the entrance to the inn was... interesting, in the dark) Is there a "wait for (x) hours" option anywhere?
Thanks for the replies. I have a 16GB model, only have about 1Gb spare at the mo. The thought of clearing over 4GB to make space for this horrifies me - all my precious games that I haven't finished yet!! Sadly then I don't think I'll be able to purchase it for now Does anyone know why games need double the space to install??
Because if you downloading + installing on your ipad... you essentially need space to store both the installation files and the installed game...even if the installation files are cleared at the end of the installation.
You don't need double the space if you first download the game on your computer via iTunes and then do a wired sync to your device. I'm sure most people sync wirelessly these days, but it's an option if space is limited.
Just wait until the first update... If you update from the iPad you will still need double the space free in addition to the space for the current install... So BG will consume about 5.5GB during the install. 1.9GB for the old version + 1.7GB for the installer + 1.9GB for the new version (the old version and installer do not get removed until the install is successfull). As others have said, if you are low on space use iTunes to update.
How does the new character DLC work? How far into the story do you meet the new people? Trying to understand the advantage of buying now vs. playing it "stock" for a while before adding the new folks. -Greg PS. I'd like to hear about the new sound tracks. Can anyone with the PC version comment?
How do you get to know spell names and effects? I can't get a tooltip to show in the spell book or the hot bar. I can only read scrolls, but the majority of the spells aren't on scrolls, all my clerics spells just appear in the spell book. Thx
I'm site they'll be absolutely GUTTED. Your sale could make the difference between failure and everlasting success, after all.
Just stay finger pressed for about 2 second on a spell icon in your spellbook, then a page with description will show up. Already answered few post ago.
Going to have to wait for a review and hope that TA don't skim over the negative stuff like they usually do with such a crowd-friendly release. I loved the original on my Mac but I'm reading far, far too many people complaining about how touch-unfriendly the interface is, especially struggling to tap targets and send parties upstairs etc (which was just as annoying in the original t be fair).
Hi guys, I hate to be the one to go back to the ios6 thing in this thread, but after searching online several times, I can't find an answer, so I'll ask here since I'm deciding on whether I should make this upgrade a weekend project for me or not. There were some mentions earlier in the thread about apps that had ios6 compatibility problems. Since I can't really look for that info for each single app, one by one, before upgrading - otherwise THAT would be my weekend project, with all the apps I have - I thought of asking here. Does anyone recall any specific app that you know doesn't really work on ios6 and that doesn't look like it'll be updated? I'm not referring to the stock apps like maps and YouTube, so we can take those out of the equation. I'm thinking more about games and stuff. Any help will be much appreciated - I'm kind of eager to play BG:EE, but I wouldn't do it at the expense of losing other games I have. Thank you all! Paulo
Hmm, I appear to be stuck in the tutorial. I've got the gem from the basement in my possession, spoke to the quest giver and he says I need to go find the gem. Suggestions? I could skip the tutorial of course, but the anal retentive in me wants to complete it.
Weekend project? You make it sound like you are redecorating the house and moving it to the left a bit. I installed iOS 6 as soon as it was live and it took less than an hour. I've got thousands of apps and games and never had any problems but I see updates all the time anyway so really don't worry IMO. Don't be angry with me if you DO have any particular problems tho; it's just my advice. As to the BG game... "disappointed" is the way I would describe my feelings on it
Well, in my eyes it's still worth the purchase. I think they're going to make improvements on the interface, as people already is pointing issues out to them on their forums. It may take a while, as they've got the Mac and Android release to think about right now, and quite a few issues remaining in the PC edition. It's not optimal, but still, it's Baldur's Gate on the iPad! That's good enough for me....
Every time iOS gets an update, there's some apps with issues, and every time, one just needs to wait a little while and they'll be updated to work on the newest iOS. This time it isn't any different, and since its been a while, most if not all apps and games have been updated to work on iOS 6. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
At this point there are very few Apps with issues in iOS6. Personally, I have hundreds of Apps installed and none have issues. If an App still has issues with iOS6, it can probably be considered abandoned by the developer. (Even the Maps are pretty good in iOS6. It is more feature rich then iOS5, but the POI searches are not as good. If you do have problems with Apple maps, you can still use the Google maps website. The website is more feature complete than the old iOS5 maps, but it can be a bit slower than a native app)
Hi all, Thank you very much for your replies. Indeed, I'm sorry if I make it sound like redecorating the house, but the truth is that 3 out of 4 of my past iOS upgrades have, for one reason or the other, not been smooth, with me having to then manually adjust all the apps, and manually reconfigure some things I didn't expect to. Hence my question I guess I'll do that. Quick questions: does anyone know if Battle for Wesnoth HD, which hasn't been upgraded in a long while, runs fine in ios6? It's one of my favorite games, so just wanting to make sure I won't lose that. Cheers, and enjoy the game!
Just want to put my two cents in here as the last few pages have been a bit negative in tone. This game has a couple annoyances, sure, but for me , they do nothing to take away from the overall enjoyment of the game. There will be bug fixes to smooth them out I'm sure. It is amazing that I'm playing this on my iPad. This is the type of game the iPad needs more of! I picked up the PC version at launch which I can see now was a waste of money as I find the experience better on the iPad. I am sure I will never launch it again on the PC... Oh well....
The developer abandoned Battle for Wesnoth HD a couple of years ago. However I hear that it runs fine. BTW, there is a new port that came out last month with the latest updates that you may want to consider (iWesnoth). To be honest, if you have reservations on upgrading, you may want to hold out for BG to be patched. The touch UI is in pretty rough shape right now. It's almost unplayable if you aren't already very familiar with the original game.
