I can't scroll item descriptions in stores on the new 1.2 update!!! Try starting a game, shop at Winthrop's and then try the item descriptions! This is effectively a showstopper for me, unless anyone can suggest a workaround.
Tap the arrows to scroll down and up as that does actually work (tiny arrows at the top and bottom right corners of the item description box)... Trying to scroll on the actual description doesn't work like you said though.
Let me try again what you said - I think it's a problem with the iPad Mini as whatever I did earlier, even pressing the up/down scroll icons on the description, did not scroll the description. Weird that the scrolling works when looking at the items on your character's inventory but NOT on stores. So it's definitely a bug that needs to be fixed. It wasn't like this pre-1.2.
This also happens on my iPad 3. Indeed, scrolling those descriptions needs to be done on the arrows, which is cumbersome, but a workaround nonetheless.
Sometime there is an audio queue after the character completes his action. If you kill someone, pause and set every one to attack the next one. Target spell casters first, charm fighter types. Don't be afrais to use potions: the game hurls them at you. Give anti magic potions to fighters and tear spell caster apart. Squishies benefit from AC buffs. It is a lot to take in but pause is your best friend and quick save is your new wife. Hope that helps.
Don't forget there are also scripts you can assign to each character from the "Customize" menu. That lessens your reliance on individually assigning commands especially if all you really want them to do is attack.
I just tried it and it does work when tapping on the scroll arrows on the item description. It's just very difficult to do on the iPad mini Retina - half of the time it doesn't register the tap on the small scroll arrows. Hope they fix this soon. At least I can play in the meantime - I'll just dread going to shops for now..
Game Center is quite possibly one of Apple’s most underdeveloped presences on the iOS collection. Very few companies such as Apple with devices such as the iPad and iPhone & OSX can claim to have established such a unifying system across different platforms. The least they could do with it is develop it more fully. While many of these suggested changes and additions would reasonably be dictated by the player and the developer, they could easily draw much more attention to Apple’s gaming apps and network, increasing both revenue and pleasure for all.
As far as modding goes...check out this thread: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/16695/amazing-discovery-overriding-cre-files-without-override-folder-and-jailbreak It works nicely and allows you to do anything that doesn't require text changes in the game. I modded my game to allow any race to be any class. It is super sweet.
Faster than I expected, I have updated the main GUI to move the pause and save buttons to more convenient thumb locations on the left and the highlight and select all on the right. Here is the link on the baldur's gate forums. Let me know what you think. http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/29837/gui-icon-mod?new=1
Am doing the ccorans quest. But there are no wyverns heads to pick up after killing them at the cave where Peter the north is there. That's after coran saying we should get the heads to the temple. What gives?
Ok i want to buy this game but have a few questions that must be known before I purchase it 1. How easy is it to import my save to the 2nd game from this one? 2. How does it run on the ipad 2? 3. the pc version is 19.99 this version is 9.99 is this version missing features? 4. Does this crash a lot
I really doubt it, the UI would be tiny. Look at the screen shoots, there is no way you could accurately access most of the interface.
