Ooh nice! Looking forward to getting back into this game now. If only I can remember what I should be doing next!
Having read so many problems, big and small since the release, I have never bothered to get this game, now with the 1.2 update, is it time to bash the buy button?? Thanks
Can someone point me to screenshots of the improved visuals? Is it improved across the board? Or just the spell effects?
What improved visuals? I don't believe that was promised at all... Lots and lots of bug fixes, significantly improved touch input and the game doesn't slow down to a crawl when using area effect spells anymore.. There's also a nice overhaul of the interface, fonts and main screen
A few things I've noticed with this update: * The text is much crisper and the graphics for most items is much nicer. * The one area where I think it's a downgrade is multiple item stacks (arrows, potions, etc.) The quantity number is *tiny* and hard to read on a 3rd gen retina iPad. (Has anyone installed the update on an iPad Mini? Was thinking of getting one, but with this update I can't even imagine how small those numbers will now be...) * You can no longer press and hold on the [+] button on the donation screen in temples to quickly get to 100, 200, etc. You have to press for each one...very annoying! Overall it's a nice update but I wish they'd fix those couple of issues.
From his tweet to me BG2 is still waiting on approval. We did a re-submit halfway through the week, so I'm hopeful for Wed/Thurs
Definetly. The game was a must for RPG fans even without the latest patch, but with 1.2 it's nearly perfect. I'm considering replaying it before BG2, since the controls feel very smooth now.
if its going to have same amounts of bugs as release version of BG:ee - there is nothing to be hype about
It won't. Most of the code base is identical, so any errors not quest related fixed in BG is also fixed in BG2. The same goes for the touch interface. Besides, the original BG was ridden with bugs since release that never got official fixes - BG2 didn't have many outstanding issues. It's been out on PC a couple of months now, and there's always issues with a game of this magnitude, bot nothing serious in comparison with BG:EE on release.
Oops wrong thread! Anywya I hope that the people waiting for a less buggy and user friendly experience decide to purchase. This game was the best money I spent in 2012, no question about it!
Anyone noticed that Custom Portraits are now working? This is a screen from my iPad game... (see attached) I just followed the instructions on the Baldur's Gate Forums (used ShadowKeeper) but I think now that the feature is enabled the only thing necessary to do is add a "portraits" folder on the Library folder using iFunbox and place the Custom Portrait files there. When you click "Customize > Appearance" on your character the "Custom" button below the portraits is already enabled and you can select image files to use from there. (Just make sure to follow the size standards and naming conventions I guess...)
Yeah Customization needs more work / attention to detail - but once you do make it work, it's priceless.
Is this currently on sale? The price tag in the App Store says it's $6.99 now. I'm wondering if it's on sale or if that's the new price. If it's on sale I think I am going to pick it up but if it's just a new price, I'll wait a bit before I get it because I have too many games now as it is, lol.
