FF7 on iPad? Think you mean FFIII, FFIV, or FFV. FFVI, let alone FFVII, has not been released by Square Enix (yet).

It'll come after they've released the patch for BG1.
They used the same engine as BG2, so the fix for the slowdown will be fixed in both games for the iPad.

I don't think we'll see BG2:EE until the new year.

Sometimes, the games industry just cannot win.

I know I will blame the developer for releasing it, if it is full of bugs.

Now that it is not out, I blame the publisher for being tardy.

Yeah, I must admit that I'm a bit impatient now, too.
I think Beamdog took too much on their plate when such a small team promised to deliver Windows, Mac, iOS and Android version of the game, all with localized translations.

They didn't realize the amount of bugs the original game contained, also, every time they fix something or introduces new content, that in itself often broke something else that needed to be fixed...

The biggest obstacle have been the slowdowns when using certain spells, which was present in all versions, which eventually required them to completely rewrite the renderer in the game.
That's been a massive task that required months of additional work.

All this while fans on all platforms have been impatiently demanding fixes for the game. I believe Beamdog is a team of around ten people, which, when thinking about the ambitions and work required to achieve this is amazingly small.

Even if I have to wait until next year, I'll support them, but it's understandable if people is getting a bit miffed by now.

That being said, the game is completely playable on the iPad even with the odd slowdown.

Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition II was submitted to Apple a few hours ago (Source: Twitter). Not sure about the update though......

    FANTASTIC!

I assumed that would mean that the patch for BG:EE was also submitted, since they promised cloud transfer of our characters from BG to BGII.
I was right, BG:EE Patch is also submitted to Apple.

What a great Christmas this is going to be!

Which means the BG1 1.2 patch should be coming out soon, since they wouldn't have submitted BG2 if the patch wouldn't be ready in time to come out before the sequel dropped. Great news!

I've been sitting on this game for a year since my original purchase, so I'm waaaay excited about the patch for BG1. :D So they (the patch and BG2) should come out simultaneously? Or would the patch maybe be approved even if BG2 doesn't make it before the freeze? I'm not very up on the Apple specs of approving things. :)

I hate to be "that guy," but I hope BG1 goes on sale when BG2 comes out. Just got my rMini and going through XCOM, it would be great to have this next in the queue.

Especially thrilled about the ability to import BG 1 characters into BG 2. I spent a lot of time after finishing the game chasing down all of the skill-up books to max my stats in the hopes this would happen.

    <also breaks into Snoopy dance>
