Never played this gamet, don't no how or why, i just seemed to miss it.Ive heard a damn lot about it through the years and with all the crazy legal issues that just went on with game being pulled and all. I'm jumping in quickly this time just hope it lives up to its hype!! #
I think you will enjoy it if you aren't hung up about having the newest graphics (the game is 15 years old or so). It is about the deepest (every NPC has a lot to say) and most strategic party based RPG I have ever played so if that sounds cool to you then you will enjoy.
What happened to the patch? Beamdog said it was just about ready to be released and then it got pulled. Now it's back, where is it?
Well, just two weeks ago they said: I guess it depends on how you define "near future" within this context, but I don't see two weeks as being very long. Patience young grasshopper.
They already hinted on an iOS and an Android release of Baldur's Gate 2, and i will definitely buy that in a heartbeat (I miss my Kensai), but the bugs encountered from the PC version (both BG1&2), to the iOS version (of BG1), still exist, so im not sure if it's ever gonna get fixed, even for BG2.
On the up-side, Baldur's Gate II will be released on 11/15: http://pockettactics.com/2013/09/02/baldurs-gate-ii-enhanced-edition-comes-to-ipad-november-15th-android-is-a-maybe/ --DotComCTO
I just pooped my pants... Nov 15th is tomorrow right? The repackaged BaldurÂ’s Gate II for iPad will have the Throne of Bhaal expansion pack available as DLC, as well as four new party members (also as DLC). Wonder how big te DLC will be for the expansion..
I've played a little with no problems on iPad 4, but I'm trying to wait for the big patch before I really sink my teeth in.
So true. Beamdog has certainly blown any hope of me purchasing their BG2: EE. I'm still left with the broken first installment and not impressed at all.
On Tuesday the patch was officially noted as still being "at least a week" away. As Beamdog reps have pointed out, development on the patch pretty much stopped entirely during the extended legal debacle earlier this year, or we'd have it by now.
Alright, thanks for the confirmation. Damn iOS 7 auto-downloaded and took 3Gb of space on my iPad mini - and the only thing keeping me from installing it is wanting to know first if the games Im currently playing will work on it or not. Baldur's Gate most especially.
Only thing holding me off grabbing it. As I tend to play spellcasters, the performance hit of AoE spells is off putting.
