Universal Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition - (by Beamdog)

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is still avaliable on Steam and on sale for 75% off ($4.99) today. I doubt this is Atari's way of rubbing in your face that they will do as they please selling the Enhanced Edition where they want (Atari is publisher on Steam) but not allowing Beamdog to publish (on places like App Store). Point being, if you missed it on iOS it's avaliable on PC and that BG:EE wasn't simultaniously pulled everywhere suggesting more complicated rights disputes.

If you bought it you can always re download it from the App store, it's still there. You can't buy it new though.

 

Actually I have had other games in the past that were legally challenged (eg. Kolonists, I believe) that are no longer available to redownload. I would just keep this backed up on your PC somewhere safe

 

Is that gog.com? I checked there and they only seem to have a PC version of Baulder's Gate.

BGEE is back for sale on the App Store. Hopefully we'll see a new patch soon.

 

Wow! This is definitely good news! Hopefully more news on updates or even on Baldur's Gate 2 iOS would come up soon!

Hi everyone. I've been reading this post only recently and didn't have a chance to try the game before it got pulled and when I saw today that it was back, I immediately went to the App Store to download it. After reading a few of the reviews on the App Store, I wanted to ask everyone here if what some people are saying is true - are the controls really that bad? I went back a few pages on this thread and it seems that everyone here likes it, but before I pull the trigger I just wanted to hear from a few of you. Thanks in advance.

 

The controls are fine. It's not like this is a platformer or shooter or something.

There was a few issues when the game was released, but it was fixed in a subsequent patch.
It controls great now.

I'm so pleased to see it back in the AppStore.

I look forward to the next update, there's problems with some spells dragging the frame rate down to a standstill, but they've been rewriting some code and the promise is they've found a way to fix it.

One of the absolute best RPG's ever!

Fantastic news. I already have the game but can't wait for their major patch they had planned, waiting for it to replay the game again. Great to hear BGII is in the works again too.

 

I've altready finished the game, and the controls worked fine. There were times when the game registered movement when I only wanted to scroll the screen, but that wasn't gamebreaking at all.

I'm rooting for the developers, bring us Baldur's Gate 2: EE too!
