Seems likely that this is related to Atari's bankruptcy earlier this year. Trent's tenacious. If there's any way to work through it, Beamdog will.
Curses, pulled before the fix I was hoping for was released. Bah. I had held off mainly because of the AoE slowdowns, and was waiting for them to be fixed. I wonder what the issues are, told off for putting the game on sale recently?
That's pretty standard for such situations - the business end of issues like these are rarely open for public knowledge, no matter what the content/direction.
Oh for the cussing smurfing smurf cuss cuss!!!! I was waiting for this update to get back into things. Crap on a stick.
For what it's worth gog has a PC/Mac DRM free download of Baldurs Gate ($4.99). If you keep an eye out they have been including it in discount package bundles (I got BG 1+2, Icewind Dale 1+2, Neverwinter Nights 1+2, Demonstone, Dragonshard, Planscape:Torment all with any expansions for $21.xx).
That's an awesome deal! I bought all of these when they originally released and still have the disks... Though I know getting some of the older games to work with new Windows would require jumping through some hoops!
Wow... This sucks After paying full price for it, and being disappointed in the bugs and kind of shoddy UI/port in general, I held off on really playing it. I actually deleted it while waiting for it to be patched up proper. Now however, I think Im going to just request a refund from apple.
The GOG downloads work on win 7/8 with no problems. All the best user mods are included in the download including, I think, the widescreen mod for all the Black Isle games. if not, google will find it. I bought the complete package a few months ago for $20AUD, so the specials keep returning.Alpha Centaria + also for les than $5. Still my favourite game, even now.
Pulling games doesn't have the same impact on the App Store it used to. Now you can just re-download them from your purchase history.
Beamdog can't help it... It's Atari, who made them pull the game.. Atari with it's stupid Bankruptcy.
The iPhone 3G was released in July of 2008, I bought one brand new when it came out. iOS 2.0 came out then as well, and the App Store was introduced. The iOS update with a purchase history for the App Store didn't come out until 2011.
Atari Now you know why devs make original IP, wish that Beamdog could just get all the Baldur's Gate rights and IP from Atari, maybe that is how it will work out.
Wow, I am soooo glad I re-downloaded this last week after deleting some crap. Sad others can't buy it now though
