It sounds like you probably got everything with Neera, there's not much to it in the first game as they plan to continue it in BG2 and I guess Throne of Bhaal. That said, one of the bugs that was around at launch could potentially break the quest line, so it might be worth trying to find the dialogues just to check if you got the final one.

So is this pretty much like the Baldur's Gate that was on PC and Xbox years ago?

No. It's an enhanced edition of the PC Baldur's Gate.
Not the Xbox game, (BG: Dark Alliance).
That was a completely different game, not in the same league, and not a real deep RPG like the original, it was an action RPG.

Basically, the only thing in common with BG for PC is in the name.

Niice, has this latest update been submitted to Apple already? Itching to play a Dragon Disciple! :)

Oops - did not see prev post that its already pending with Apple...

One thing I wanted them to resolve was when dual-classing, your avatar should be able to be changed. In example, if I wanted 1 level as a fighter before dual-classing fully to Mage I shouldn't stay stuck as a fighter avatar...

People can say whatever they want, but Trent and his crew, supplied more update and fixes than the original company.
Just glad that all those old bugs are fixed now.
And some nice new features as well. Can't complain.

If I am right and a mini runs the same hardware as an ipad2, then I'd avoid it.

I've had nothing but problems with mine, crashing constantly every 4-6 mins no matter if I'm in combat or idling. :(

Very unstable indeed and apple wont give a refund. My advice if you have ipad1-2 then avoid, if you have an ipad3-4 then buy!

Great game, just a shame us ipad2ers are hung out to dry.

Just accept that it seems like some developers (perhaps not the Baulder's Gate one) are targeting the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 as minimum target platforms and upgrade.

The stinky part is that those of us who want the iPad Minis would probably fall through the cracks if Apple continues to give it last gen tech...

I aim to upgrade to an iPad 5 (Wi-Fi) for gaming and an iPad Mini 2 (3G) for work.

Until then, no Baulder's Gate for me...

Its not as simple as 'upgrade'

I'm disabled and live on an incredibly tight budget, the only reason I even have an ipad2 is because all my family clubbed together and bought me it for my 50th birthday. The chances of upgrading are ZERO.

I don't mind that, sure I didn't expect apple to make so many new ones so fast and make it obsolete but then when a game says ipad2 compatible, I expect it to be so.

Have you tried the Spiderweb RPGs? They are somewhat similar to Baulder's Gate in terms of side quests and stuff. I can confirm that all three, Avadon, Avernum: Escape from the Pit and Avernum 6, work on my iPad 2.

If you have a PC, hit Spiderweb's website for PC demos of their games for free, a lot of game is included in those demos.

The game seems to work fine on everybody else's iPad 2 and iPad mini (and many people have responded saying as much both here and over at the official forum), but unfortunately the particular poster you're replying to seems intent on going out of their way to willfully ignore all of this feedback and instead repeatedly and deliberately misrepresent the game as simply not working on anybody's iPad 2. :p

I'd suggest not simply taking their word on the matter, and instead ask around for further opinions from other people with the same hardware; this particular poster is the only person I've seen claiming to have such major issues with their device when it comes to this game.

I don't mind saying this upset me quite a bit.

If you go back probably 10-15 pages to when I originally bought the game you'll see I tried everything I can to run it, a lot of helpful people suggested things to try and I tried them all,I even wiped my ipad2 clean and re downloaded it.

I'm very saddened and rather upset you think I am untrustworthy and a lier. :(

You only need to go see my posts in the phantom leader thread to see I am happy to rejoice about a game I like when it works, even if its expensive.

All I want is a working playable game (or refund) but I have neither. I was only trying to help the ipad mini person from possibly suffering the same frustrations I have gone through. I do not dislike the game nor the developers, hell I'd LOVE the game if it ran ok. :(

I won't post here anymore, ok. I'll just consider my £7 lost and simply avoid this thread, I will not be called lying scum when its not true.

Appletini didn't call you a liar. He merely pointed out that you're the only person he'd read having issues with the game on an iPad 2.

You're experience seems to be unique, and the critique giving to you was that you seem to ignore that fact, claiming that the game won't work on any iPad 2, which just isn't true, (not calling you a liar, just saying you're wrong).
This could lead to people with an iPad 2 not buying the game even though BG would work fine on it.

I have both the iPad 2 and iPad 3, and the game runs fine on both, and if you frequent the official forums, you'll see that no one there have issues with anything but the iPad 1, and even then just memory issues leading to chrashes.

I don't know why you're having problems, but I'd say you have a faulty iPad.

No, I'm aware of that, and won't argue that it doesn't run on your machine, because obviously I can't verify that it does or does not; the problem is that you keep ignoring everything everybody else says on the matter, and keep making the blanket claim that the game simply doesn't work on the iPad 2, to the point where you're now quite specifically telling other people not to buy it because it won't work.

During the discussion pages back there were a number of people responding to your claims directly, stating that they had no problems whatsoever with the game on the same model of device, but every response from you has pointedly ignored these comments and continued to make the claim that the game doesn't work at all on the iPad 2.

It's unfortunate that you can't play the game on your machine, but as I said, you're the only person I've seen who has had such massive issues with it to the point of it being unplayable; we'd surely have witnessed a pretty major outcry if the game wasn't working at all on a significant number of iPad 2 or iPad mini devices.

I don't believe you should be advising people to avoid picking up the game based solely on your anomalous situation, particularly when you would have to go out of your way to ignore all of the feedback from other people in order to make that recommendation.
