I come home from the store to see lots of txts on my cell phone, it's from my friend Eliel. Now I never thought he was a bad guy until now. He and his cousin had sex, filmed it, and smoked. He's 12 years old! I'm the same age as him and wouldn't even dream of doing any of that stuff! And that just shows how charming his cousin is too. I mean holy crap. That's sick and disgusting. I'm not going to put the original text on here because I don't want to get banned. But the reason for this thread is to help me out. Is smoking like the cool thing to do now? I mean when I was 6 smoking scared me to death but one of my other friends offered me cocaine. Where he got it, I don't know. I went straight downstairs and told his mom because it's nasty. So if someone offers me a smoke do I take it or be a douche. I need some help.
If you read the "Smoking" thread you'll se opinions are mixed. Ultimately however, it's your life, so it's your call.

I'm not lying, I could take a screenshot of my iPhone and post it on here but just go in Photoshop and blur out some of the bad language And his parents already know and didn't even care. That pisses me off because what responsible adult wouldn't care.

Your cousin is pretty messed up. With regard to smoking though, if you're not a smoker, don't start. Seriously. I've been a smoker for over 20 years now. The thing about it is, at first it doesn't seem to bad, and it takes a long time -- years -- before the effects on your health start making themselves known. But they will make themselves known. A slow decrease in lung capacity, a slow degradation in the taste of food, an increase in phlegm production while eventually makes you have to clear your throat and cough more, greater susceptibility to airborne illnesses like colds ... and those are just the start. We won't even talk about greater risks of cancer, lung disease, etc. Also, smoking "tasting" good or "feeling" good is an illusion. It is a stimulant, so it does have an effect on you at first, but that ultimately fades as you become addicted. At that point, they only taste and feel good because you're feeding your body's craving for nicotine, which gives you a feeling of relief and relaxation rather than stimulation. It only feels good because not getting it feels bad. It's kind of like why it feels good to scratch an itch. It only feels good because the not scratching it feels uncomfortable. Likewise, smoking feels good because as your body runs out of nicotine, you feel uncomfortable and the cravings kick in, so smoking gives you that feeling of relief as it returns your body to its comfort level. It's not cool -- not anymore anyway. It's still regarded as rebellious, so I guess some kids would find that aspect of it attractive. (You shouldn't do it, you're too young to do it, so naturally you want to do it. It's related to Pink Elephant Syndrome.) Your cousin is an idiot for starting. But I think we established that with his other act.

He told me I better not tell anyone but I thought this was important, he was the one kid I knew who would do anything for a peice of candy. It's sad cuz I think he might go to jail. He sexually assaulted someone at our school for a handful of skittles. I stuck by him cuz I thought he could change but now that this happened I don't know.
