I gotta say, this the most original Gameloft game I've seen yet, and it looks promising. Excited for this title.
Um... Pirates of the carribean, this is just the most uncommon, unnoticeable clone they have come out with, there are still many others too like Sid meiers pirates. To sum it up it's their most original clone they've done.
Well, I think we can argue all day about how original this is, but I think we can all agree that this is the most original game we've seen gameloft do as of yet.
Anyone remember Sea Dogs (the predecessor to Sea Dogs 2 which was eventually released as Pirates of the Caribbean)? I hope the game is like that!!! Definitely looking forward to this one.
By those standards, Call of Duty was both a Medal of Honor and Saving Private Ryan clone. There's such as thing as genre, and the pirate one dates back to the beginning of cinema. Pirates of the Caribbean itself is based on a theme park ride that is itself based on The Crimson Pirate, Errol Flynn films, etc.
Just because there are pirates? Come on dude... Pirates of the Carribean is just a rip off of Treasure Island if we're making these comparisons.
When did this game will be availible, and backstab will it be avaible for iphone/ipod touch (2th generation 8go)???
Exactly. Toucharcade should have a list of things one should know (including this) and arguing too much about them should cause a time out or something. So that people stop arguing about the same things again. and again. and a few times more. and so on.
When I look at this screenshot I see the NOVA/NOVA 2/Avatar forest with all the same details, shadows, light, trees, grass etc... As I already said - Gameloft once made their Engine, few Level and Person models, Sounds, Menus, Buttons, Effects - and use them now in every game. Racing, Shooter, Strategy - all the same menus, buttons, sounds, engine, controls, gameplay, physics, level models, player models... They only change some minimal visual stuff and hope that their blind idiotic fans will buy another copy of a "new" game. It's more than primitive...
It may look slightly like the forrest in Nova (except that hat one was a different green and had more rocks and different trees), but the one in Avatar I'm quite sure was rather different their Engine? They have more than one. You think the level models are the same? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Personal models the same? So, in wich other gameloft games did you see pirates? Sounds? Yea sure, because a racing game can have the same sounds as a first person shooter. Or a futuristic laser shooting gun can sound like a sniper. Uhm no. Menus & Buttons? Well how much variety can a menu have? They have a good menu design and everything is fine. Also, unless two games are in the same series (for example NOVA and NOVA 2) the buttons always have a different look. Effects? They are the same when two games use the same engine. So yes, their newer FPSs all have that red-cyan effect. And their racing games have refelctions. Menus, buttons, sounds, player models and engine mentioned earlyer. controlls? You want them to change them? They work fine now, that is the reason why they shouldn't be changed. Gameplay? Yes, all FPS games involve shoting. It's called a genre. And it's not like it's only like that with gameloft games. physics? Ok, they should maybe improove abit here and you are almost right, except that most of their games don't have any real physics worth mentioning. level models? Ok, please showm me two different gameloft games that have EXACTLY THE SAME level. (Not counting multiplayer, I think it is pretty good that they put in the two old maps into NOVA 2, hey, it's better than without.) Compare Asphalt 6 to Fast Five. That isn't a "minimal change". Also the gameplay isn't the same, or can you blow things up in Asphalt 6? Sorry, but I just feel like correcting things today.
It might look similar, but as you can see below, they change most (if not all) of the assets in each game. If you think the level design, character models and gameplay is all the same then you're clearly the blind idiotic person, rather than the Gameloft fans.
you're kidding, right? of course all driving games have driving in it... and all shooters have shooting... and if you're comparing shooting games to driving games by saying their the same, well, i don't really have to say anything else
Would you care to give Gameloft a bit more credit? A fellow member clearly demonstrated that the forest differs from every game despite having the same color and with due respect, you might want to realize that all forests are green in real life too. Furthermore, one doesn't need glasses to see that the menus and buttons of every game is unique. If you don't appreciate Gameloft's works, keep your mouth shut and refrain from calling the people who do enjoy it "blind idiotic fans." Verily, It would seem to me that blind is an adjective more suited for you than for others.
