Just discovered I could print an app list from itunes I'm probably slow and everyone else probably knows but thought it was a good way of backing up my app list. I basicly just went to the apps tab in itunes then print and sent it to a pdf printer driver. Looking at my list I'm wondering if it's typical or if I've spent way to much on this. Just for curiousity sake heres a pdf of my list I guess you could call it my finished result I'm curious how it compares with everyone else although I had to use megaupload unfortunately. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=55CX14Q6 I think I'll email it to myself and keep a copy there just in case.
I use the AppShopper importer tool. http://appshopper.com/blog/2010/12/01/appshopper-importer-tools-for-mac-and-windows-available/ It runs through your iTunes applications folder and uploads all the apps you own into your appshopper account. Very easy to sort/keep track of on there.
I use AppShopper and created an ID to store my wishlist... but I feel funny about giving them my AppStore (Apple) password.
There's no need to giveaway your apple ID or Password for an appshopper account. Where does it even ask for those?
I just copy all of my IPA files from the folder onto an external every once in awhile. It saves me from having to go through and redownload one-by-one from a long list.
Wow I thought my 288 apps was quite bad I guess I've a way to go. Although I'd probably still be buying a lot more if apple didn't limit device size to 64gb. That being said I still can't resist the really big titles.
Consider that a big part of my list is potential crapware downloaded for free on temporary promotions and things like that. There are lot of things I never had the time to check if are worth keeping. I really should force myself to do so and clean up a little.
Ah man, that AppShopper Import tool finds nothing if you're the kind of person who likes to keep their computer clean.
Yes, it's a Cydia app so that you backup applications. But all it does is make a list of the original applications and install them later. It's the data in applications, which is the most valuable. Unfortunately I have not found a solution.
Hey - thanks for the heads up on being able to print the list from within iTunes! I sorted in column view in order added, then printed as a song list, printing to a PDF. Then I copied the text (just the names) out of the PDF file and mailed it to myself. Handy!
That's why I run the importer before cleaning out my itunes library each time. But yeah, starting late would mess that up. Eventually it will be pretty close though. And you can manually add games to your appshopper list by hitting "own it" on the website, but that'd take a long time.
Yeah it's my fault for not reading the post properly. I thought it was some magical device that read your entire purchase history on Apple's database or something
I hope Apple brings the "Purchase History" that's in the Mac App Store to the iOS App Store. It lists all your purchases and has a button to click to install anything not already on your system. I can buy apps at work, then download them at home easily this way. iTunes App Store needs this.
