Become a gear and master the twisting, turning, dangerous world of machines in this award winning mobile game! Axle is a platformer featuring a sentient gear who embarks on an epic adventure to find out where he truly belongs. Set in a rich environment based on WWII-era machinery, Axle turns the classic platformer formula on its head. Rather than moving linearly, the player moves clockwise and counter-clockwise around circular platforms. Bursts of magnetism allow Axle to propel himself from gear to gear. We began Axle as a student project and now hope to release it commercially on Android and iOS. We're currently raising funding for professional software licenses and other expenses needed to release a topnotch mobile game. If you're interested in seeing this game on iOS, please show your support and visit our Kickstarter campaign to learn more! You can also find us on Facebook or on Twitter.
If the screenshots/art are any indication, this could be a very successful release, and a great game. Can't wait to see it.
Thanks, AnarKitty! You can also find some video clips of gameplay in our Kickstarter video or on our blog.
We began development with only Android in mind, but the project has expanded since then and we now hope to bring it to a wider audience. What you see in the videos is Android-only, but if our Kickstarter campaign is successful enough, we'll be able to port our game to Unity and release on Android, iOS, and possibly Windows Phone 8. If our Kickstarter does not succeed, we'll be releasing on only Android for now and an iOS port would have to come later, if at all, depending on the response we get. We've marked April as our delivery date on Kickstarter, which I think is playing it pretty safe. I hope to see a release around February. It's hard to say exactly, since most of us either have full-time jobs or are still students.
