$16. Buying one now. http://www.switcheasy.com/products/ThumbTacks/ThumbTacks.php# BTW even though it says $3 shipping, they charged me $2, so it was $15 shipped. They are the ones that made the case (Neo) I use and the dock extender.
I was going to buy this but then I realised that when you plug it in it'll turn off the speakers because it thinks you are plugging in headphones. It's ultra cool but you can't use apps like Ocarina with it. Although I could be wrong... Here's a picture for those who can't be bothered to go to the webpage: It looks awesome.
Bought it with one of these, $17 total http://cgi.ebay.com/3-5-mm-Headphone-Earphone-Headset-Audio-Sound-Splitter_W0QQitemZ260371179359QQcmdZViewItemQQptZOther_MP3_Player_Accessories?hash=item260371179359&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1234|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50#ht_2545wt_1165
Thats cool and all.................but.............you could also be like me and go get the in-ear headphones from Apple and not worry about getting a sound splitter.
And this way with the splitter you can share music/videos/movies with someone else without disturbing anyone else, and just use the mic if you just want to record. A splitter is always good to have
I prefer apple's remote and mic headphones which I bought in the Belfast apple store. The sound is really crisp, you still have your headphones for private use and the in line remote is pretty sweet. (30$)
I'm not sure about the splitter. Does it realy work? Afaik the Apple remote with mic has four contact patches (left, right, mic and ground), whereas a normal stereo headset (and therefore the splitter) only has three (each one for left, right and ground).
Can anyone confirm that connecting the mic and headphones to a splitter will allow you to record and listen at the same time, and be able to use apps such as ocarina?
