One of my favorite developers and has been for over a decade.. This guy is doing such a wonderful job at keeping the old school feel in these games alive and strong
Thanks for the kind words! (And don't forget to vote above! ... though I dont think we'll beat out Crazy Taxi. I loved the dreamcast version to death and still own it)... but hey, here's hoping
You got my vote for sure, I really dig this style of role playing, lots of variety and ways to do things, great work!
Great to see this get an article on the front page. I have only just taken it for a spin (still have to finish Escape from the Pit) but it's clear it's another top quality game. I love these and they work really well on iPad. No idea how difficult these are to bring out on iPad or if they generate good revenue but I really hope they do well and we see more releases.
I was looking for something old school in the vein of ultima 7 for my iPad and I came across Avadon the black fortress. Since then I have downloaded both Avernum games.
Is anyone else experiencing lag/mini freezes while playing this? I'm playing on an iPad2 and every few seconds, almost every move, it just seems to freeze for a second or two before catching up, makes it quite difficult in fights.
I went through the complete game on my iPad2, and never had any problems. But that was one or two iOS versions back, so maybe something changed on that side. Is your device jailbroken? You can always contact Spiderweb Software directly, from what I've seen they are very helpful and friendly.
In short: Escape from the Pit is game #1 in the series using a new engine. Avernum 6 is the final game in the series using the old engine.
