Except that with Windows I can pick and choose exactly which updates I want to install, and if they cause trouble, revert and/or uninstall them. It's not even remotely comparable. Apple insists that in order to get the security update, I also have to get the emoji keyboard update and who knows what else because they bundle everything don't document jack. If security is what was important, the security updates would be completely separate, full stop.
Sorry, but I for one feel let down. After purchasing the previous titles, which were very good, I immediately jumped on this when it appeared. Now the dev announced that iOS 8.3 broke the system (or similar words). If the dev knew there were or may be issues with future updates, why release it? It seems tantamount to fraud. There were many other games that could have been purchased instead. I really do not want to sound picky or negative, but I use my money to purchase games, not expecting someone to pocket it AND offer a possible limited time-span to boot. Please note, these are my own views on this, everyone has different horizons to look to.
You can cancel purchases here just dont abuse it or they might block you https://reportaproblem.apple.com/ Go to report problem next to the game and pick i want to cancel this purchase
Yeah, it's right here: http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPad/Avernum+2%3A+Crystal+Souls/news.asp?c=65820
Great, thanks a lot klink! And here's Jeff's original blogpost: http://jeff-vogel.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/age-pleasing-apple-and-trying-to-climb.html The Pocketgamer post also mentions Avadon3, so I hope we'll see that on iOS as well.
Very happy to hear that he is able to get the game working for iOS. One of the best RPG developers in gaming. Looking forward to this and future Spidweb games on the iPad.
"Eventually, after several days, Vogel was able to get his engine and game working for iPad once again. "Now I think I'll be able to ship the game after all, and be proud of it," Vogel writes. "It should be a happy ending." Kinda sad he gave up the game initially, when it sounds like it was only several days to fix (his words)
According to his blog he had depression issues to deal with first after being worn out which should be priority above development of any kind, then learning to program on the iPad and finally rewriting his old engine. Wouldn't blame him for taking all the time he needs, If anything I think he bounced back quite quick.
"only several days to fix" is days of bloody hard work, don't forget that. I work in a software development company. If our devs have to dig into something for several days to figure out what's going wrong, how to fix it, and then actually do it, that's a huge strain. Even more so when you do it all alone, and have noone to bounce ideas off, take a second look, etc.
Still not available on Malaysia store? I wish to get escape from pit but if crystal soul didn't release on Malaysia App Store for what I get the part one?
