A lot of features are great if they work consistently but they don't. They only seem to work properly for the AI. Phonix's stun always gets me but only works sometimes for me. Same with Psylocke's mental coordination. It's really hard to say how they manipulate the game but I remember last PVP I was always in Vibranium everyday. Then the last few hours I kept losing to Hotshots and scrolls and ended up on 4%. I even got into Adamantium league for a couple of days. But this season there are more players with better stuff gained from the last PVP and I can't compete.
Easy 500xp for my level 4 Psylocke tonight as I inserted her into my PVP attacks. Won all 5 and now she's training. I'm currently at 1.4% and 1400 rating. I know it will drop fast as the end nears but this is the highest I've ever been. I don't remember losing to a CR equipped agent in attack.
Happy New Year everyone! I have a question that maybe a long term player can answer. This is my 3rd PVP season. All so far I've finished in Diamond league even though in the last season I did get to Adamantium but on the last day even I got thrown out of Vibranium and still ended up in Diamond. My question is no matter how much I improve weapons and heroes I can't crack the higher leagues. Why? Who is winning the higher leagues and with what weapons and items? I know Hotshot is a winner and the scroll of Angolob and Sinister Scepter and maybe power armour all which I don't have. Is that all? And what do I have to do to catch these guys and get into the higher leagues?
Well the vib league is very doable. I hear you though. When i had a 2nd acct it had nothing either. It was a testing for weapons and heros. Pvp suck so i didnt even bother and now i dont use it anymore. Only thing you can do is keep trucking and try to find a combo that would work. I think i used quick silver and psylocke with them. Attackig first and trying to stun before being stunned, then try to coordinate as many attacks possible. Also psylocke with phoenix will bypass the specter and kill the agent Most the time i dont get ad is because if the timing and its ok. Hopful at some point things i dont get will go on sale.
As for armor, the next best thing i think are the power armors in the shop which cost gold and have a full set of 8 ISO8 slots. Even with the 'shining' power armors, i still see the general 8 slot power armor from the shop still being used because there are no general power armor rewards available. As for items, the best thing you can buy in the shop is the Quantum jumper. It is very very useful and still among the most popular items being used out there. I bought it very early in the game i still use it sometimes until now and never regret the gold i spent. If you bought a rocket pistol last x-mas sale that will help you a lot too because i am seeing a lot of those in the higher leagues atm. Otherwise you can go for the popular items from the missions, some of them are being used by people when they have an extra slot or are trying to spice things up e.g. golden screaming eagle for its damage, dark sigil for aoe DoTs, MFG (not so popular anymore since scroll), Po4 to keep your agents level low so you dont play with people in the higher level just yet, etc. Keep leveling/buying heroes to increase your bonus. I cannot stress this enough because imo this is what separates the people in ada and vib. Most people in Ada have all if not most of the heroes available and they also buy uniforms just so they can have even more bonuses (e.g. buying hawkeye's blaster uniform even tho hes useless just to add more to their attack bonus instead of the hp from his tactician suit). For bonuses the priority goes like Blasters>Bruisers>Scrappers>tacticians>infils>general some people switches scrappers and tacticians around, but its up to you. I might miss some stuff but others can give more opinions. Oh and be prepared to grind PvP a lot if you wanna get into adamantium. Unless your bonuses are way better than your opponents you probably wont be winning on Defense which means you have to make up the loss of points by playing constantly and checking every few hours especially nearing the end of the season.
Look at the ladder on PVP and view the top 50 players. Try as hard as you can to be like them (most level 300, 500-800 wins). If you're level 100 and do five matches a day, you have a very small chance of being there. Do 20 matches a day. If you lose a defense do two matches to make it up plus some. If you lose an attack do three matches to make it up plus some. Etc.
Dunno if they increased the collaborative effort on CR, but it is proccing a lot for me. FYI, you do not have to use CR to gain the buff. It procs after your first item use by an agent.
Many thanks for the suggestions and ideas. Currently I'm looking at you advise for priority of bonuses and will study my heroes to see which I can adapt better. That's really so helpful. I'm levelling up bruisers ATM because I've neglected them But I can change some costumes like Hawkeye to blaster. A big problem is getting stunned. I got thrown out of Vibranium last PVP because of Hotshot stuns and ended up on 4% after being in Adamantium!! It just seemed to be stun followed by Angolob and I couldn't compete. Still its worth keeping at it. I love the challenge.
I suggest you buy the cheap heroes 1st (prioritized by their class accordingly) and change costumes only if you have a lot of extra CPs though. I mean extra heroes is a better way to spend CP than buying costumes just for bonuses, because the heroes you buy might be a requirement for upcoming SOs. And a general rule in leveling heroes for bonuses is getting a hero to 12>buying a new hero>11>10.
I'm doing that now but its a work in progress. Just the same its a great game better than chess in my opinion.
And playing 5starred chapter 8 mission 5 just makes it easier. I got bored with the one i was playing and tried that and wow. I cant keep up.
I had the agent stun my entire team with hot shot then his cable gave his agent an extra turn with which he used his quantum jumper giving his heros another extra turn. I didn't even get a turn and my entire team was killed.
Finally got Cable to lvl 9, so I'm checking him out on PVP. So far I'm loving it - all those extra moves are great to take, he's hard to hit or damage between Body Slide and his random shield, and his plasma rifle is great for sneaking past defenses. Anyone else using him on PVP with luck, on the defense side?
I went against him many times and the ai does body slide all the time. For that i think its not good for defense.... But what is?
I missed out on Cable when I lost in literally the last seconds of season 3 and finished at .51 and 2 points behind someone who had .50. So I finally got him this season and I love it. QJ+ Cable = massive amount of turns.
