I'm seeing the same thing. Though, I like it better than yesterday when I lost most battles.

I took your advice with WWII Cap and Worldbreaker Hulk. Waiting a couple more levels before I buy Scrapper armor for my agent.

Since switching, I've gained almost 200 points on defense, bringing me to 3%. Definitely loving it.

No. Sticking with Bruiser Hulk. He's a little stronger, and Cap protects him from blasters. Plus, when I do get the Scrapper uniform for my agent, it will up the diversity to have a Bruiser Hulk.

Oh, and I wanted to show this to everyone. Proof from the Nightcrawler debacle yesterday. Hopefully Playdom gets my support request and lets me keep him when he "officially" comes out.

Man, hope you get him back soon on your character screen. Or at least all the CP!

I currently have Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. I'm debating on whether to get Wolverine next or Spiderman. With the new movie coming out though, I imagine I'd have more fun leveling up Wolverine. I also still need to add Dr. Strange eventually.

And why the heck don't we have Antman or at least Yellow-Jacket?!

So I'm brand new to this...It seems really cool! I'm browsing this thread for info and tips and such, but until then, anyone who wants to add me so I have folks on my allies list, that would be awesome! My ID is nicoga3000

Anything useful to know as a complete newbie?

Nightcrawlr is out again! I can buy him right now. He's tempting to buy. Does anyone know how effective he is in pvp? Does he ever get any uniforms in the FB version?

I have Spidey and wolverine. I personally like wolverine better. High crit rate, bleed effect and healing factor are nice. His attacks use a ton of stamina though. Spidey is pretty awesome if you add evasion type iso8. He's really hard to kill because he dodges just about everything. The only problem I have with him is he has really weak attacks for me.

That being said I rarely use either one of them. I use mostly cap and hulk with their uniforms. If you have enough cp for one of those heroes I would strongly suggest buying WWII tactician for Cap instead. Add some expert iso8 and I guarantee it'll be the best decision you ever made.

    Tapjoy is your best friend.

Prepare to devote a good amount of time.

Don't waste gold on weapons, silver, energy, etc.

Farm magneto (4.4) for magnetic field generator.

Buy captain America and get his WWII uniform.

Buy as many heroes as possible to gain pvp bonuses.

Get as many allies as possible to make sure you get your 62 daily shield points. The game is very difficult if you don't have a lot of allies.

Unlock your jets as quickly as possible for silver farming.

When you get to level 60, buy the quantum jumper (36 gold).

    Use google.

Yeah he is! I still have him, so I'm happy!

He gets a pirate costume eventually. No clue what it does, but he has a cutlass, so it looks cool.

Never used him in PvP. Honestly, he is one of my all time favorite comic characters, but not one I played as a lot on Facebook. I far prefer Kitty Pryde or Sue Storm if you want an Infiltrator.

Hank Pym was an unlockable character in the FB version, part of a Special Ops, which is crap because it introduces even more new currency to contend with daily. Plus you only get 30 days to pull it off. Google it, it sucks out loud.

I remember having SHIELD points to spare on Facebook. At the end of my time playing, needing 200,000 silver to upgrade was the only thing slowing me down. I'm not sure what's different, or if I just played a really long time before starting to use Tapjoy. Maybe I didn't have enough characters to need constant upgrades? Could also be we got 4 gifts from allies a day instead of one?

Regardless, it was always easy to switch to getting all unstable ISO-8 during special ops. I'm worried about that for the iOS version. Could be we will just have to ignore levelig characters and just play with ones that need training? Or maybe that issue is why PvP tournaments rolled out first (special ops came way sooner on the Facebook game).

Of the big ticket heroes this is how I've seen them in PvP.

Storm is a one burst character on defense. She will run out of stamina and get stuck doing nothing for the rest of the round. If the enemy can survive through the initial burst they can win it pretty easily. On offense she is strong. Her area attacks bypass some of the more deadly attacks. However because her base is a blaster she will get rocked by tacticians easily. At the same time changing her to a tactician may not be the best option since tacticians are good for other heroes as well. She also still retains a bonus against bruisers which is incredibly strong for this season's PvP. Most of her defensive shortcomings can be alleviated by her protective shroud which increases evasion. This can help your team a lot but it depends on the other player you encounter and their level of accuracy.

Captain America can end up being an incredibly strong defensive character. Playing against him he is one of the first characters I would take down if I could. He has a tendency to counter attack a lot of single target attacks. I can't specifically remember which costume I saw that was the worst to play against. I have no experience playing him offensively so I won't comment on that.

Hulk, as a defensive character he can be a threat if you have a scrapper on your team. However he dies incredibly fast to a strong blaster type character (Iron Man and Storm are my references for this). He seems to utilize a good assortment of skills. I've seen all four of his skills being used at one point or another. I've always killed him before he's run out of stamina so I'm not sure if he has the same issue as Storm.

Thor, as a defensive character his only threat is that he will buff up his allies to deal more damage. He will utilize inspire bravery almost exclusively and then run out of stamina and get stuck not being able to recharge. I don't dare use him offensively due to him being a bruiser.

Wolverine is pretty bad as a defensive character. He tends to never use berserker frenzy which is his skill to cause bleed on others. This should be his number 1 skill to use but the computer always uses adamantium claw for whatever reason. Offensively bleed is incredibly strong since it will usually proc twice in one round due to the wording of the skill.

Spiderman, I've never really seen anyone use spiderman on defense so I'm not sure how effective he is. When I used him in the 900 range I had really mixed results. I didn't really go up or down in rank. On offense his main claim is that he's very evasive and can avoid AoE damage for the team. However I rarely if ever see this occur. His web blast seems to be good to reduce damage taken and increase damage done to the target, but seemed to be about it. He sometimes gets a counter attack or an extra turn but I'm not sure if it's a bug or just an issue of his counter not having the right conditions to activate often.

One of the many games I played far too much in my youth. The local arcade had it on lowest difficulty so I could 1-credit clear it with Storm (arguably the best character because she had the best range, and in a side-scrolling brawler, range - and manipulating the bosses by moving vertically - is all you need).

That game is why I'm sad they never put Dazzler in this game, even on Facebook. Doesn't matter if she's any GOOD or not, I just want to own all six of that set of X-Men.

Sadly, Nightcrawler seems useless in Mobile right now. He doesn't have a passive ability, most of his moves are missing traits like Stun or Combo that his Facebook persona has, his Level 2 skill was completely removed from his skillset - unless I'm missing something, Spider-Man is actually superior to HIM right now, whereas it was typically the other way around.

And, of course, he brought those ads with him. :)

Don't want to requote your ENTIRE post (but it's worth a read, so jump back one page if you missed it). A few thoughts of my own to add to that:

I'd avoid Storm altogether on Defense. I frequently see her recharging her stamina on the VERY FIRST TURN. If the CPU has that poor a grasp on how to use her skills that it thinks recharging a full meter is her best action, she's a liability.

Wolverine, I agree that the CPU likes to lead with Adamantium Claw. It probably looks at the move and says "Hey, this will cause the most immediate damage, let's do that." So fights that I could have issues with if they hit my Captain America with Berserker Frenzy become cakewalks. (And since Hulk's ranged attacks like Thunder Clap or Titanic Hurl also give him "Enraged" as long as they strike at least one Scrapper, having him on your team VS a protected Hulk is a recipe for disaster.)

I avoid any character on defense that has an ability where there's a "right time" and a "wrong time" to use it. So Thor's out for me, too - I saw the CPU Empowering Strike twice in a row and follow that with ... Inspire Bravery. Bad CPU. No Biscuit.

The worst situation my team faces on Defense is when my Captain America uses Shield Guard even though he already has the WWII Costume version of Shield Guard active. (Not SURE if it's that dumb, but given the antics the CPU uses for other characters, it wouldn't surprise me in the least.)

Again, I'm new...So work with me here...

    1) What's the deal with Tapjoy? I've tried to do the surveys before, but I can never get the gold to show up. Are there offers that people consider "best" to do?

    2) In terms of farming, I've been trying to redo missions early on to gain levels, but the enemies get stronger (which makes sense). But there's a point where I wouldn't mind going back and doing a lower level version of a mission that I can actually complete. Is that possible, or will it become easy enough as I progress to farm a 5* mission?

    3) Is Captain America considered one of the best to have?

    4) Getting new allies is just spreading the word on my ID, no?

    Thanks for the tips!

    1. Follow the link to the Tapjoy website in game, and download the 100 free apps for 1 gold a piece. It's boing, but gets the job done.

    2. No. You can't redo missions on the initial difficulty once you get additional stars. I would tap on each mission and check the recommended agent level. Use that until you are way higher (by the time I 5 starred(sp?) missions 1-1 to 1-5, I was level 28.)

    3. Yes, with the WWII costume. 90 cp for Cap + about 43 cp for the costume

    4. Go to the allies area and enter other people's names. Check out the other forum on Touch Arcade (search Avengers Alliance and pick the one under the "Add friends" category. It has lots of users to enter.
