no doubt - looks very good. I like the varied styles of game play. Guess I need to see that movie! I'm curious to what the budget for the game was too - but we'll never know that.

I do wonder how "open world" it will be. Terminator Salvation was basically a series of set pieces strung together; I had fun with it, but that kind of a linear set up pretty much kills any replay value.

Gameloft's formula is not open world - but I don't think it matters. Its a movie game. As long as it gives the movie some added press before it comes out - I think its doing its job. I'm sure thats the intention of the producers of the movie.
They try to work as many 'angles' as possible to get people to become familiar with the movie before it comes out. Looks like Gameloft has done a fine job translating this to an iPhone game. I haven't seen the Avatar games on the other platforms, but it looks like the type of game my son would really enjoy, he likes all of the movie games - like Kung Fu Panda, Pixar's Up, etc. Its really geared toward the younger generation. The sliding down the vine scene reminds me of Disney's Tarzan when he was sliding through the trees and vines - definitely looks like fun. I'll buy it (or try the lite) when it comes out.

Well there is no series and there are no comics, so maybe it is time to care ;)

Yeah it does! It still has Gameloft's stilted character animations, but aside from that, the graphics are incredible! I hope the gameplay will match - I can't really tell from the video.

Anyways, this is definitely on my watch list.

dunno, i can't imagine taking a core aspect of the movie (beautiful high res cgi/art/etc) and downgrading it to the iphone/touch translating very well.

not a game type i'd play, unless it should happen to be 0.99. i.e. not a game i'll ever get to play, or care that i don't get to play.

I was talking about the Disney cartoon version of Tarzan.
    Not the original.

Reminds me of Soul Reaver with Raziel running around.

Thanks Josh... I think there was a Video tape of that in the bag with the kids' old stuff I threw away, didn't see it. Was it the one with the Phil Collins song?

Really looking forward to this game as Avatar is going to be the only movie I'll go and see this year. Not expecting too much though as it will probably be more of a promo thing than something with unique and original gameplay...

Uses Gameloft's typical control scheme. Joystick to the left, Action Buttons to the right. Awesome.

Dude, I miss that game...there were actually a bunch of sweet games on the Dreamcast but that was my favorite! I really wish they would make a new one for the 360.

Anyway, this game and this movie look awesome! Can't wait to see the movie in this new 3D technology in IMAX!!!
