Yes and it is ridiculouly annoying. Ipad 2, latest patch installed. When I scroll around on the map, and let go, if my finger is not almost perfectly still when I let go (because I've arrived at where I wanted to scroll to), map flies away in that direction as though I had flicked the page as fast as I could. Seems like flick/scroll sensitivity is way high. Crash bug: I used military espionage to bribe and enemy unit to defect to my side during battle. The game would crash upon victory every time a unit did so. If I chose not to have my guy do that mission, I finally finished the battle victoriously without the crash. Something in how the defecting unit tries to remain defected when post-battle cleanup routines run.
Here is a picture of a problem with combat. Units can run off the field, but can't be moved back. Edit: photo deleted due to large size and no desire to resize it.
We got it Uberskopper, but that bicture is HUGE, can you remove it? I've forwarded it to Fernfreak already He'll get the picture lol.
So I have no idea how to unlock the second ability. For example, how do I unlock swing for mercenaries? rest for elephants?
The unit buildings unlock a new ability at level two, so you just need to build one more in another province to unlock the second ability.
I'm also playing with Qian but whenever I attack the Sunstka Dunes the game crashes. So I'm forced to keep diplomatic relations till the patch arrives which I assume will be addressed in the new patch?
Is there a gold cap? I'm sitting on 1.7m gold and I'm in the process of conquering everything, but the game crashes each time. Is it the fact that I make 33k gold a month? I have hundreds of units though.
1.7 million?! What year are you on already?! Yes, the next patch will solve issues with the crashes due to combat, just hold on a bit longer. I was told that saves from 1.04 would also still be playable from 1.05, so you can try new warlords in the meanwhile. Hopefully thats the end of all the problems, and we can move on next to create additional content. I'm not sure if we would be buffing Bao Lun yet, he does start with 10% more population and his units are 10% stronger, and Elephant troops are the only units who can heal in battle... If there would be any changes, we'll probably increase the base rate of acumen gains.
By the way, and I have no idea if this would work, have you tried making the province in question revolt? That turns it neutral and you may be able to annex it...
I'll have to admit, taking down a province without using an army is most satisfying. I'm playing as Qian, and influencing two warlords to fight each other while I improve my army is just amazing. Siphoning gold, bribing armies, creating diversions. It's been a while since I played a video game for more than three hours but I've been playing this non stop since it came out. The term console-quality has a new definition. Great game guys.
They all do. All warlords have a different mix of units and are designed to favour certain tactics. Toshi for example has all the ranged units in the game, and only Spearmen and Sappers to back them up. His ranged units deal 5% more damage than others though, so if you can keep the enemy from closing up, you'll do a lot of damage. We expected players to want to build a lot of acumen (tech) buildings to make full use of this mix of units, so we also gave him a bonus to researching stuff, and hence his name and flavour, Insightful Toshi. Jang En's uniqueness can be boiled down to his warlord traits. He has unit upkeeps reduced by 15%, which means he gets to keep a bigger army than most others, but those units have 10% less health as well. And because of his Constabularies, he'll also find it a bit harder to maintain order in his provinces (which are important for gold, population growth and to keep provinces from revolting), unless he keeps building palaces which are at half cost for him. He also starts as the warlord with the most number of provinces. Reminds you of any country right now? I compiled some of the data here already: http://ad-warlords.wikia.com/wiki/Warlords_%2B_Officers I'm trying to identify and answer most common questions in the FAQ there and provide a mini-guide for starting players.
Went ahead and brought the game A bit disappointed that most of the warlords are locked when you start and are forced to play Iron Zhao, any reason for this? What does the thing with the plus sign next to the amout of gold I have means and when I am hiring troops that is a thing with a negative sign, Is it like the amount of food?
We set the scenario for Iron Zhao to be easier, so we wanted players to try him first. The unlock conditions for the other Warlords are rather easy though, it shouldn't be hard to get the rest available fast. The plus sign you see in the main screen is the income for your kingdom each turn, and the negative sign in unit hiring is the upkeep you need to pay each turn for that unit. If you hold your finger on any of those (and most other stuff in the game), you'll get an explanation of the item, and in the case of Income, a breakdown of where your gold is from.
Great game I see there are already many things said but I would like to add two more: 1. I don't like the brush. I would like to be able to draw a circle around the units to group them just in the old AD version. I don't understand why you changed it for the iphone. Because it is so small? 2. The auto save feature is cool. After quitting the game you can reopen the Autosave, which is called in my case "Chaosansi" with the pic of the guy. You also see three empty spots. This makes you think, that you can quit and open a new game with another Warlord, play, and at the end it will be saved as Autosave with a other warlords name and pic in the second spot. But it overwrites the first game, which is sad, because there I was winning, lol. Why not keeping every new game, except it is a new game with a warlord which was used before? Ok. I know that I can save the grames with a specific name. I just thought it would be nice if the app would do this by itself.
