Just got a post patch crash. After the AI successfully counterattacked, the game crashed and now I can't reload the auto save. Playing on an iPad 3. Edit: yep. It looks like there are crashes when AI warlords invade or counterattack. It doesn't happen all the time but now my save with Jin is unloadable.
Hi Uberskooper, Thanks for your feedback, I am trying fix the crashes you are facing, would you be playing the 1.0.4 version?(there is a small number on the top left corner of the main menu for that version) BTW I am assuming you are loading a save file prior to 1.0.4? (The save files should be compatible, I am checking just in case) I would keep you updated on this thread. Jeffrey
Weird, I upgraded the horsemen facility to make them all 1 level higher when producing at that base and each one still comes out at Level 1. Did I misinterpret that? I'm already upgrading it level the 3rd level (they should now be produced at level 3) and no change in level. Can you also change the UI so it shows how much acumen you need for each skill? I keep tapping skills randomly because I can't remember how much each costs (they're all different).
Bug update 1/2, still getting an overlapping text error on society bonus values. See next comment for pic.

We've been testing out playing new games ourselves, and it led us to suspect that some 1.02 saves saved some of the crashes. We'll do more testing on our end to try replicate them. Thanks Calin, we'll fix the two problems with the society texts. Lawliet, the Horsemen are coming out as level 2 when I tried, was your building fully constructed after you upgraded it and tried training horsemen? I also tested with a level 4 Training Gounds and a level 4 Stables, and my Horses come out as level 4. Do also check that you're using version 1.04. We added the "? acumen required" messages when you try to use an ability with insufficient acumen, I'll arrange to add the acumen costs to the tooltips for abilities, so you can just hold your finger on the buttons in combat to see their costs.
Yes, I was playing a save from 1.0.2 in 1.0.4. I deleted the whole app and reinstalled it. I had to start over with the Iron Duke again and had the game freeze after conquering a province. The game seems to run a bit worse in 1.0.4 too. Maybe it's just my imagination though.
I just received a notification that 1.0.4 is available. But I had already installed it. Now the notification icon (small red 1) won't disappear from the game's folder. I guess there's nothing I could do in-game that would cause it to... that's quite annoying.
Has anyone noticed on the main map that sometimes when swiping to move your view of the map that the camera will jump around randomly?
We found the bugs that led to the crashes, it's fixed, and we're sending out the patch within the hour. There were two seperate issues, the first one was a random crash that may occur when a society reputation is high. And the other one takes a bit more explaining of our mission selection system. Summaried version: The enemy ran out of troops to defend from a counter attack. Long version: We actually keep track of how many attackers are sent into a province so that we can set these same attackers as the targets when the defender does a counter attack. The problem is that for those counter attack missions, the original attacker can choose to send troops from any of his previous attacks, and there is a possibility that all the attacking troops are wiped out while there still were conquered points in the defender province. And that starts a chain of (programming) events that leads to the crashes. Sorry guys and thank you for your patience with us.
Uberskooper, I fear hearing the answer, but can I clarify what you meant about the game running a bit worse in 1.04?
I'm gonna throw my two cents in on this one as well, cause i think it's a perception thing: the unit models are more colorful and slightly larger, and the map features, mountains etc., are also a little more detailed. I have a feeling (without ANY negative implications) that the nr of different animation...frames...for the troop movement, arent as numerous, because of the more complicated nature of the troop models. That makes the troops look a little more jumpy and less smooth when they're moving. It's like they're skipping 1 movement frame for every 3 that happen. Again, this is my theory, and I think it's got a lot to do with visual perception. The model animations can't be the same as the original cause they're new models, but I also dont know about how this aspect of programming works so I apologize for being a bit of an ultracrepidarian here. My point is that there's deff a diference, visually, in how smoothly the troops move. If it's something similar to my theory, a speed slider will solve the problem, by tricking the eye into thinking there're more frames moving in shorter amount of time. PS: i got a super weird bug where a cav unit was able to flank my archers by going outside the map border. It was funny as hell, ima see if it happens again and send a pic. Thanks a lot for putting up with me lol, i really hope y'all don't mind my nagging but i wanna see this game be bug free so y'all make enough of a profit to keep making more lol.
Thank you for making the first game free. I must have overlooked it at the time, but this is right up my alley. After having read the comments in this thread, I'll gladly buy Warlords. It seems like the loading times are longer and there is more delay between going from the city to the main map. Like I said, it's probably just my imagination though. The game runs well. I would like to see the crashes fixed though and it sounds like you guys are doing that. Also, it's not a bug exactly but units being able to go off the map is rather weird.
Any hope of making this iphone 4 friendly? Got hooked with the first one months ago and been looked forward to this since announced. Was really sad that iphone 4 is a no go since i'm a big big fan of Romance of three kingdoms series, to not be able to play this is gonna further making my office break more depressing
Is there some way to fast forward or auto-play the battles? If so, I can't find it. Some of the battles are great to watch and actively fight, but others are tedious. Great game, overall, though!
there is a auto resolve button next to the confirmation button (looks like a computer) which can be use to fasten the pace.
We're looking at doing the game speed option. I don't think we can support iphone4, I got vague ideas about "image sizes not supported" or something from Gamedboy when I asked him last week, and I'm not sure if this can ever be resolved. I'll push for it if it was even possible, most of the 1 star ratings we got were "white screen" complains and thats all because of unsupported devices. We can't set restrictions to people buying with certain devices too, else we would have right from the start.
