I'm going to look like a right schmuck here since I'm hardly new to RTS TBS games but struggling to work out how to play this. Clicking on the Training Tutorial button before starting just dumps me in it and no helping at all. Usually tutorials say things like click here to start building and holds your hand through the first scenario. This does nothing. Nobody else here seems to be having trouble getting going so either I haven't selected the Tutorial properly or there really isn't one. I did somehow manage to start a scenario but then I couldn't get back to where I was and couldn't go on because it said I had used up all me troops? Also I have Autumn Dynasty and played the heck out of it so my only comment is I dislike the Brush button to select groups. In AD all you had to do was use your finger to draw round a group. Seems that later (if I ever get there) it would waste valuable time selecting it first before dragging round a group. Cannot see the logic in changing that from AD.
That's quite close to describing it, the battles aren't turn based but real time strategy though. If you got AD RTS, that update includes a Redeem button to get her solo scenerio early. Else she could still appear in a normal game as an opponent (from a rare global event).
We were trying to have as little scripted tutorial as possible, so it's our fault if it isn't clear. In of your own provinces you will find a Fortress and a Camp. You can double tap on the Fortress or tap once and then access the buttons to the right to get to "Manage Buildings". Inside, you just have to tap on any of the different icons you see for more info or to build, upgrade and demolish stuff. Same thing goes for the Camp, tap once to get the Manage, Move or Invade buttons, or double tap to directly go to "Manage Army". In "Manage Army", just click on the troop icon on the zoomed up camp to start hiring troops, or click on any of the troops around the camp to get more details or disband them. Troops can (usually) only move or attack once per turn before becoming exhausted. Troops are unexhausted at the start of each new turn, so just end the turn with the hourglass icon on the bottom right of the screen. Lastly, you'll also have an officer(s) that you can use for diplomacy, espionage or domestic affairs. Just look for someone on a horse.
So how deep is the map and city management/defence building part of the game? On rome total war and one of the lotr games my favourite part was that rather than the actual battles. Although I did like to keep my troops alive as they got experience and levelled up along with having kill stats ect
Thanks that with the 42 minute youtube play through got me going. Love it. Except that brush icon for group selecting.
I redownloaded the first autumn dynasty and there was a redeem buttion in the game. You get the atarala scenario that way
If you have AD RTS, that update includes a Redeem button which releases her solo scenario early. Or else, she could still appear in a normal game as an opponent (from a rare global event).
I am sendng my officers to investigate some strange lights but my mission have been ending in failure. Do I need something to get success
Gotta say, this is a very impressive game. It's like a more complicated version of Starbase Orion, set in ancient Asia.
I clicked the redeem button and i could start the atarala scenario, but after almost an hour the scenario disappeared in AD:W
