Oh, I see. Well actually we do have plans for the longpress functionality you're talking about. As to the combo/scoring system. Well, we've carefully balanced the game in such a way where the way to win is to play efficiently and push your advantage. Sorry if it's not your speed, but really. I can't stress enough how once it all sinks in, it really is something special. I wouldn't have animated for 4 years for it if I didn't believe in it. Anyway, thanks for your feedback. We're always listening. Feel free to join our forums too if you wish to have discussions about future versions, or even beta test!
For what it's worth, tapping a spell does display some text around what exactly it does. I don't believe anything similar currently exists for the monsters though.
Text appears on the top window. If you're still going through the tutorial it doesn't appear, but it will in the "real" game.
Caught ya! =] Take the placement test and start Play Mode! You really won't "feel" auro until you do. And spell descriptions are in the text field during Play Mode, as was previously stated.
Oh wow. I guess I can understand the decision to overwrite the game text with the tutorial text for ease of implementation, but when people are going to do the tutorial first, and it gets fairly complex, it seems like a questionable decision to obscure the text when it's most needed. I don't know what the loss rate is of people who for one reason or another never get through the tutorial to play the full game, but I'll bet it's significant.
Just a reminder, you can do just a few tutorials before diving into Play Mode - you don't need to do them all. Hell, if you want to you could even just dive right into Play Mode and use trial and error to figure out what stuff does, if you really hate the tutorials! Also, we do have that tutorial video and a manual. So there's four different ways to learn the game. I guess five if you count watching an advanced player play the game, like the LuditeSam Twitch videos posted earlier today.
Ben - Yes. It's funny, actually: we *have* code to detect this situation, warp you to the start and -1 Barrier (like falling in the water), but I haven't gotten it to work right yet so it's not activated. But for now, yes, you must resign in that situation. The good news is, getting stuck like that is actually pretty easy to avoid.
Yeah, this really only happened because I stubbornly refused to take a hit on one of the five turns leading up to that. I figured I'd be able to hurl myself in the water but no luck.
I love this game. I love it so much that I want to gift it to a fellow TA member; it deserves to be recognized and enjoyed. All I ask is that after you've really given it a chance (it's a deep game), consider gifting it a friend or another TA member. Also, leave a review on iTunes to boost its visibility. I'll reply to the first person who PMs me by the end of the day: if you don't hear from me in a timely manner assume it was claimed by someone. I look forward to sharing!
Despite the fact that I'm currently immersed in Goblin Sword, Super Glyph Quest and Hero Emblems I've taken a punt on this because of the overwhelmingly positive word of mouth. I trust y'all.
I'm stuck on tutorial level #14. After killing all the enemies (2 mice, 1 bat, 1 slime) the level does not complete. #15 does not open up. Suicide or Resign just restarts the level. Edit: having 0 bytes of free space was causing the issue. Deleting a few podcasts let me enjoy the game as intended. So good!
Cepcion - this happens consistently for you? That's very strange. Anyone else had that problem? Maybe try killing the app and restarting. We'll look into it. Hey, good news everyone - Auro is featured on the App Store, under Top Games! Yay! And yes, *please* do tell friends. We really need people to know this game exists. Hopefully TouchArcade and other big sites will be writing their reviews soon too, that will help.
I'm thinking my issues stem from having 0-24 MB of free space on my 5S after installing the game. My bigger problem is when I start the Play mode I can't move my character. The game works great on my iPad so it's probably "free space on phone"-related.
