Oh, I see. Yeah, Auro is by nature "low res" - it's pixel art. It's a stylistic choice, not a technological limitation or anything like that.
There's plenty of pixel art games on iPad that scale up nicely on iPads with Retina display however Auro isn't one of them. I think you need to include HD artwork for the iPad version. The game looks great on my iPhone 6 and I'm just asking for a similar appearance on iPad. Many people have made this same request in this thread. I'm honestly a bit confused why we're still talking about it.
When you say "HD artwork", do you mean just "locally upscaled pixel art", or do you mean actually remaking all of the art in HD? Because the former we might be able to do, but the latter is a ton of work.
I think it has to do with how screens get munged on different devices. AURO is one of those games that makes me sad because the art is fantastic, but looks blurry on my 6 Plus. I think this is what klink is referring to, but for the iPad. One example of a game that fixed its graphics is Cavernaut which as of it's latest update doesn't get blurred on the 6 Plus. BEFORE / AFTER see how nice the pixels are in the AFTER version..?
I'm not a developer so I can't really comment why it doesn't upscale well on an iPad screen. I've attached a couple screenshots as an example. One is from my iPad Air 2 and the other from my iPhone 6. They're just internal shots and even then it's noticeable which one is which. The real thing even looks worse.
I was already and I had a old beta couple months ago, do you have the new beta on test flight or still through PC ? Just let me know ! =]
Hey, good news everyone - 2.0 is now available on STEAM: http://store.steampowered.com//app/459680 It's coming to iOS and Android in the next week or so.
The definitely did in the Steam version...but they failed to support fullscreen at launch and thus is only playable in a tiny window on my PC at this point.
This is such a fantastic game, Keith... Is there anyway to throw some shillings your way in the app or something to say thanks for the updates and whatnot? You all deserve more for such an epic game and I did not get a chance to buy the first go around, it was gifted to me
I didn't think they were bad until I installed the game on my 6S... On my 5, the game looks great. But on my 6... wow. The difference IRL (I took a screenshot, and like above, it just doesn't really show how bad the game looks IRL) is crazy noticeable. Then I saw the Steam graphics, and they look fantastic... sucks it's window'd though, I hate how much playing PC games that don't support fullscreen displays takes me out of the game... meh... =o/
Keith, anyway to update the testflight to the 2.0 while we wait for the apple update so I can keep practicing and have something to do on the way down to pax ?
No! Open the menu when you're in a match. There are two separate switches: one for sound, one for music.
In the Steam version? Sorry to derail the thread but the sound stuff is in regards to the Steam client of the game.
