After playing Outwitters for over a year I've returned to it and love it dearly! Love Blastball Max, Sven! Anyone who loves Auro should checkout BM as well; these are my two favorite games released this year, and will probably be on my top 10 GOTY at the end of the year!
After playing some more yesterday (still lovin it) what i can't belive is the low asking price for this game, after looking on Dinofarms website it's clear to me that they have put so much into this game, it truly does deserve to sell well, hope it does! #
Thanks guys for the kind words. We just put up a new article detailing some balance changes that are coming down the tube for 1.29. It's a BIG - and awesome - patch!
Can't wait Keitth! EDIT: Read the notes and am stoked! Noticed the design element of stalling to kill weaker monsters, and agree that the game is best when you have those high intensity moments where every spell and movement counts. also, condensing the tutorial seems wise; I personally loved it, but maybe it's because I was anticipating the game for at least 6 months. You probably have this in mind, but there should be a memo that explicitly states to come back to the tutorial after you've hit lvl 4 within its respective menu. Also curious about the new pip rule; why not have the 4 and 5 pointers have 3 and 2 pips instead of implementing the new depletion rule? I'm sure there's a reason, I just can't decipher it.
It's a reasonable question, Armilla. Here's the rationale. http://www.dinofarmgames.com/difficulty-in-1-29-part-1/
Yeah, that's where I pulled that information from to begin with. I imagine this will make more sense once I actually engage the new rule set. Either way, I'm thrilled!
Hey everyone! Version 1.29, which is coming out very soon, has a massive, massive overhaul to make this already carefully-crafted game even better. What I'd like to put into everyone's heads is this: Auro is not a "mobile game." It's a real deal, honest to goodness video game that happens to be on a mobile device. Anyone who likes Starcraft, League of Legends, Fire Emblem, or even Chess or Go will get years of use out of Auro. I know some of you on the thread here already know that. But for those of you who are new to the game/on the fence, it really is that kind of a thing. Anyway, thank you for your time. Please check out the official Dinofarm stream tonight if you can. I'll be playing the beta and showcasing the new features all night. Cast starts at 9 PM EST. Link below. Thanks so much, everybody. http://www.twitch.tv/dinofarmgames
Hi Blake - will the aspect ratio problem on the iPad be fixed? Will the GFX be SHARP on the iPad like on the iPhone? Thanks and I'll check out the stream.
Thanks! I enjoyed the stream for a while. Is that done with just a mouse? Talk about old school # You'd think it would be easier to free hand it with a Wacom tablet but I know they have their issues also. Good stuff!
He does use a wacom tablet - they don't really have issues, they're what professionals use pretty much across the board (except for super-rich folks like Disney who have them Cintiq things). But actually, using a mouse for pixel art is pretty common, even among some really great ones. Some of the best pixel artists on the internet use a mouse and MS Paint! And yeah the iPad scaling issue has been fixed for 1.29.
I'm holding off on really getting into this until the forthcoming update hits, since I assume there'll be significant changes involved and want to grasp the mechanics/nuances in the latest iteration. Can't wait. These types of games with emergent gameplay and/or depth are really special and I look forward to getting Auroed. Rock on.
Hey man, you should just pull the trigger you absolutely won't regret it. Do yourself a favor, you deserve it! Edit: this is one of my favorite games ever. Just sayin'.
I bought it on release day! I've been meaning to give it some proper attention but like I said, I'll probably hold off until this next big update.
Version 1.29 is delayed a bit due to the whole dev team coming down with a seriously nasty cold (or something). But we hope to submit by Tuesday.
