Hi, Is there a place to discuss strategy for this game? Over at dinofarmgames, it seems more oriented towards improving the game, it is kind of hard to tell which monster/spell behaviour is already outdated or planned for a future version... For example, I would like to get ideas on how to deal with the lich, I am sure there are more clever ways than what I do now. They are so hard to be manipulated to walk where I want them to. I missed all the twitch plays ...
You can ask those kinds of questions here, or at dinofarm forums. Yes, most of the *current* discussion there is indeed beta/future version stuff, but that's because all the *current* users are people who have been with us for years working on the game and they're experts. Since they're experts though, they will be able to answer your questions better than I can, even. For liches, you have a number of options. A simple one is, dash to them, walk back a couple tiles and then bump them through the current. Obviously using ultimates on them is good. Look for snowball splash-freeze kills on them, as in if you have lich that's over water and next to a pillar/other monster. Hit the pillar and it will cause the lich to freeze and fall in the water.
Thanks for the reply! Dashing and walking back did not work so well for me as these fellows like to keep their distance in the past, I will try again. Snowballing a pillar is a cool trick, with fire spells it is kind of hard. I was wondering if you can kill every monster with any given spell but for the lich I often need two spells if I only have fire / air non ultimate.
It's possible to kill the Lich with every spell in the game, however for some spells you may have to take a point of damage in the process, assuming you're using it by itself.
You can watch Blake improve our Hud with some awesome pixel artwork now live on Twitch! http://www.twitch.tv/dinofarmgames Stream's over now, but follow dinofarmgames on twitch!
There's another spriting stream going on right now. Anyone interested in pixel art, the game or chatting with an indie developer in general should come over.
Hey everyone! Want to see a sneak preview of the upcoming huge balance patch? I'm making a brand new HUD to accommodate all the exciting changes. I'll be streaming my pixel arting all day, so come on by and check it out! http://www.twitch.tv/dinofarmgames
And another game that doesn't work correctly. Won't get past the loading screen after a reinstall and restarting the game and my iPad. IPad Air with latest iOS.
That can fix the occasional problem and is one of the first things I check, but that doesn't appear to be the issue with this one. I've got a Gig free, so unless this is horribly unoptimised that should be plenty of free space.
Works on my iPad air and iPhone 6 just fine. This is my current favorite game and the only game besides ridiculous fishing that I have gifted to multiple ppl.
How wonderful for you. There are also two reviews for the game on the App Store, (out of less than 25 total reviews) that also mention lockups and crashing so it's not just a single isolated incident.
Gamer1st, we're sorry about that. We'll look into it! In the meantime all I can say is delete more stuff maybe and reinstall. We have an article up about upcoming Tutorial improvements. If you know anyone who found the game kind of hard to learn, let them know once 1.19 comes out! http://www.dinofarmgames.com/redesigning-auros-tutorial/
Finally got it to run. It has to have 1.2Gb min to run past the load screen the first time which is crazy for a game this size that looks like this. After it ran the first time it started with less than 400Mb free every time thereafter. Unfortunately it won't let me complete the tutorial after I've met the requirement for the level or play the actual game correctly. It can't seem to recognize that the objective has been met and won't allow the main game to start. Hopefully this can be patched. (Fingers crossed). At least that should give some clues as to where to start looking for the problem.
Hm. That's a new one. Feel free to message wither keith or search the name "shiser " over in our forums (one of the coders) and we'll see if we can't identify the problem for our upcoming patch. Im not a coder so i cant make any promises, but we're fixing bugs all the time. V. 1.29 is going to be huge huge huge. Sorry for your troubles. Thanks so much for bearing with us!
wow! at first i didn't really get this game, but loved the art and like to support dev's like this who put 4 years + into a project and so i persevered and now its taken over my phone, never had a game quite like it, such a fantastic feeling when it starts to click, i'm only rank 3 but it only clicked yesterday, anyone on the fence should buy this, it's smart, oh and if u get stuck on the tutorials play mode's a good place to go as the game makes a lot more sense out of the isolation of the tutorials....amazing game that has a permanent place on my phone now!
Same here. The ease of mindless twitch gameplay omnipresent on mobile phones, have made us forget how cool evolving within a great gameplay mechanic is. I got the same feeling with Outfitters. I played that for over a year. Longer than any of my PlayStation 3 or PS4 games.
That's the beauty of a genuinely new kind of gameplay system you're experiencing there (which is incredibly rare to find these days, especially in digital games). As an avid player from the early beta days who has played thousands of matches by now, I can guarantee you've got years of enjoyment ahead of you (at the very least that is; the devs are still improving the game dramatically, the next patch will be huge from what I've seen in test versions).
