Oops ! Serves me right for stopping the video early ! Roll on 12am tonight, anyone yet with any comments on the control system ? Interested to know how it'll work, i hope there'll be some touch screen buttons or that
Cool, come midnight, this bad boy will be mine. Boom de yada, boom de yada, boom de yada... Help, squatters! Can someone please help me get this tune outta my head?!?! ...Boom de yada, boom de yada, boom de yada...
Insta buy for me! Appstore needs more "polished" pixel art games like this, gameplay looks very solid and the graphic simply perfect, i'm already waiting!
I was one of the beta testers for the game, and I can confirm there is a lot of bang for your bucks here.
I was the developer of the game, and I can confirm that the redeem code below works and will give you the full game for free: WFN6LLETRENF
They're not bad. They're retro. Nothing wrong with them. Its all about gameplay anyway. Look at pacman or space invaders, basic graphics but classic games As long as the game plays well that's all that counts.
I tried the lite version. First off: the buttons are too large on the iPad and (hnnngggh) there is no option to move/resize them. Not even to swap the jump/shoot around. Now. Played roughly ten seconds into the game. Came to a wall that's too high to jump over. There doesn't appear to be double jump of wall jump. Zero gameplay instructions. So I am stuck ten seconds into the game. Good news? The inertia feels good, controls feel precise. P.S. To someone asking about controls: they are standard buttons; huge ugly ones, below the gameplay screen. (This is one of those cases where the play area is a small portion of the screen only.) Now. How do I get past the first wall?
Thanks for playing! Sorry. I guess you have small hands compared to me. I'll fix this in a later update. This is a metroidvania. Have you ever played the first Metroid? If you play it, then you soon get stuck at one point. What do you do then? Spoiler Go left. In Metroid, you get the morph ball. In my game, you get a higher jump.
Game Impressions Ok, spent a half hour or so with the full game now, and this is a lot of fun. The controls and inertia just feel "right" and it's one of those games where the running around, jumping, shooting, themselves feel fun and satisfying to do. The exploration aspect is fun as well. So far, it feels a lot more like "metroid" than "vania," which is just fine by me. No need to go into too many details as there's a lite that anyone can try for themselves. A couple of issues I do want to mention though: Firstly, adjustable controls are needed for the iPad, but it sounds like the dev is on top of that already. I'm happy to play on my iPhone for the moment. Actually one question: will I be able to transfer my save file to the iPad later? The collision detection looked a little off to me with the "jumpy things." I'm really not a fan of one-hit deaths from environment when I have a life bar full of hearts. Particularly when some of the environmental hazards appear to be placed somewhat arbitrarily, and at least at the beginning of the game it isn't immediately apparent which tiles are hazards and which are not.
