I am 17 years old. Don't believe I would be considered a Grandpa. I am just obviously much more mature than you. This is why I have barely leaked any info on my current app I am developing because it would turn into a huge shitstorm just like this.
OK, You may not have been serious but you guys are acting like children. Seriously I know that the site is flooded with 13 and under year old boys but at least try and act slightly mature.
You're 17. You're a child. Whether you want to admit it or not, you probably aren't as mature as you think. I don't think anyway was actually upset. There's nothing wrong with a bit of banter.
Putting this Back on topic, It'll be interesting to see all the customizations put into this game. it'd be kinda cool if they added a fashion store, like where you could design some little 8-bit art designs for your clothes like in Animal Crossing. A lot of testing would have to be done though.
Don't be too hard on Tag Games. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they had planned an earlier submission, announced the expected week of release and were then held up trying to resolve an unexpected problem. From little snippets of information I've gleaned from various sources, including their Twitter stream, this may well be the case. Regardless it just means we wait for a bit longer and hope this is a situation where the final app approval will be fast tracked by Apple. I've seen this happen when DLC was first introduced and apps were rejected due to issues around the DLC. On re-submission some of these apps were approved within days.
I wonder if/how many times the iTunes request form has been used by impatient people waiting on App Store approval.
Just that you have to resubmit it release it in the others store too pls..or this gonna takes forever
hopefully this will be a lesson to all app creators..... not to put too much content in to any, especially the first, release... i think it would be wiser to do small..more frequent updates... that way the review process doesn't take soo long...and you are keeping the costumers happy... just a thought... ;D
huh? I'm not sure how you keep customers happy by releasing a partial game. Apps should be complete when they are launched. So lets just keep our pants on here and wait (im)patiently. It's worth the wait.
yeah..but they cudv released the game first...and then maybe did all the DLC later..! tht way we could be playing right now!
It was all sort of a greedy plan. DLC should come later. That way it feels like your getting something new and it's worth paying. DLC on the day of the games release feels like the squeeze. Usually a paid game should be one full price on it's release. DLC is a great way to keep a game alive longer. Motives aren't the same when you pay more than once on the day of a games release. At least that's the way I see it.
Everyone has their own view of DLC. Including me. Honestly I'm not "in love" with the idea of DLC. I don't have deep pockets and don't like feeling that I'm being nickel and dimed to death. And I guess it doesn't help that my first exposure to DLC in the app store has been Touch Pet Dogs. I purchased dog food but in the end I didn't feel like I got value for money. Even with my lack of love for DLC I do think that you are being harsh in saying that to release a game, in this instance Astro Ranch, with DLC is being greedy. That it should only ever come later. That's a very broad statement and unfair because you haven't even seen this game yet. You don't know what value you get for your initial purchase nor do you know what the costs are for the proposed DLC for Astro Ranch. And most importantly you don't know what value it would represent to you. That is you don't yet know if you'll even want to purchase it after playing the game. You might be perfectly happy playing Astro Ranch without spending a penny on any DLC. So far, Paul from Tag Games has said that the DLC will be for luxury items. That is a limited set of different outfits, some items to decorate your house, some items to decorate your ranch and in game currency for anyone who wants to spend up big within the game straight away. They said that all the way through the beta process as well. Unless significant changes have been made in the game dynamics and in game economy since the last beta and the release version of Astro Ranch, I can assure you that the game is fully playable and fully enjoyable without the purchase of any DLC. I suspect that this is why Tag Games have decided not to go down the "freemium" path with Astro Ranch. You are paying a small amount for a fully featured and playable game that just happens to have some modest DLC available at launch if you are interested in purchasing it. Given that game is a full game from launch, and that the DLC is strictly for non-essential game luxuries, I don't agree or believe that including this modest DLC in the launch is being in anyway greedy. In fact I suspect that there may be complaints from some people that not enough options are being offered with the initial DLC. I think they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. The DLC described by Tag Games seems to me to be modest in nature. And you can bet that if it wasn't included there would be complaints from some players that it should have been included from the beginning.
Am I one of the only ones happily awaiting the game with no complaints? lol Waiting for a game you want is just like waiting for everything else in life that you either want or is important. You just have to have patience. ^_^
