    yea everyone wants one! :p

hey dev, can i ask something? what is in the DLC? i hope it is not anything to do with the actual gameplay. is it just "luxury items"... like stuff you dont need to advance or help your character?

    I asked this earlier. :]
It's stuff like outfits, furniture for your house or additional money if you dont wanna earn it.
So yeah, I'm assuming the DLC is just luxury items.

    Hey!

Sounds like the iPhone wallpapers are required then ;-) We'll get them made up tomorrow if possible.

In terms of DLC its all luxury stuff that adds to the experience but not core to it. You can exchange real cash for galactic chips but that only gets you so far 'cheating' as you still need to rank up!

Places to go? You can go into your house, Old Gills lighthouse and Prof Emmetts cave in this release... maybe more to come...

Things to do? I dont think we've touched on panning for gold, the characters mini-quests or stealing fruit from trees/planting new trees and bushes. That said you'll be so busy with your ranch once you get to rank 3 or 4 there will be little time for other stuff!

Just checked again and still in review. Fingers crossed for tomorrow... I'm off to bed now as its been a long day snowboarding this morning and then a trip to the park with the kids this afternoon! Take care folks and I dont recommend staying up late to wait for AR - looks like tomorrow at least.

Cheers and thanks for the great questions.

Hmmm....I don't know if I'll like it as fast paced as what you're making it sound like it'll get. I just like casually farming and just wondering around. I don't want to constantly be rushing around to get things done.

I didn't feel like it was fast paced in a frenzied kind of way, but as you get your ranch built up you do have to keep on top of things. It's a good balance. There's not a lot of downtime like with Farmville.

You can play a slower paced game

The fast pace only kicks in if you try to build up and maintain a large ranch. Lots of crops means lots of planting, tending and harvesting. All of this takes up plenty of game time. Same deal with lots of animals. Lots of animals lots of feeding, cleaning, milking/shearing/collecting, etc.

If you want to play at a slower pace then you will want to keep a smaller ranch. The game lets you do this. You can play at your own pace and keep a ranch of any size and or configuration you choose to. Aside from a slower pace of game, a smaller ranch will mean you don't level up as fast or accumulate currency and ranch value as fast as someone with a larger ranch.

EDIT: I should also add that you can change the size of your ranch as you want. For example I once had a massive ranch with 5 animal pens, and over 50 fast growing crop seeds planted plus a handful of slower growing crops. At that stage it was frantic. I feed, cleaned, planted, watered, pest controlled and harvested at a very frantic pace. Then I decided it was too frantic and scaled it back by selling my animals to the aliens (who came and beamed them up in their spiffy looking UFO) and only replanted a small number of seeds. @cjsbug is correct. There is good balance in the game and this is because each player can find the balance that suits them and how they want or like to play. And you can change this at any time you choose to.

Tag Games submitted Astro Ranch last week (5 or 6 days ago now).

It's still in the Apple review process. Paul posted earlier that on that basis he doesn't expect it to be released today.

    Scorelooop?

Paul - I do have another question for you. How does the Scoreloop aspect of the game work? Is it similar to +Plus or Open Feint? Or does it plug into your Twitter following/followers list? Or is it Facebook only? (Please tell me it's not facebook only because I don't Facebook).
