My name is in the credits. Yes I'm biased. Hell yes. But let me tell you this game gets 5 stars from me. I've already spent $5 in the game. I immediately purchased 5 of the ships I loved playing during the beta. Let me tell you why this game is a 5 star game. The dev team. Led by James the dev team are amazing people who not only listen to feedback, but actually look for ways to incorporate it. Many times I even said I didn't like something. They took the criticism and always made it a positive. They didn't get defensive or anything like that. There would always be a compromise or they would try to make a suggestion work. I can't tell you how many times we went back and forth on the economy of the game. But what's been released is an amazing game that reflects its original vision, with a shit ton of user feedback, and a whole lot of fun. Another reason is the artwork and design. If you loved games like Galaga or Galaxian you will soooooo love this game. The artwork is phenomenal. When you are playing, watch the ship movements. They aren't 2d. They are fully 3D and you will see the undersides of the actual ships as they move. Each ship has its own unique style to it even its bullets and sometimes the enemies themselves. The enemies are also beautifully done. Another reason is the gameplay. The controls are absolutely perfect in this game. A lot of refinement went into them. The game, again, plays like Galaga or Galaxian, where you are a lone ship and you take on hordes of alien ships that appear at the top of the screen and on the sides and slowly move down and fire bullets at you. On top of dodging their bullets sometimes you'll hit one and it will go ricocheting and sometimes come at you and kill you lol or even kill other enemies. As you progress more and more show up and they get faster and the bullets get faster. This game is a pure high score chaser with excellent and fair leaderboards. It gets intense and gets your blood pumping. Also the enemies do drop coins. Don't forget to catch every coin you can! Themes! The game has so many ships to choose from and each ship has its own theme which changes the entire game! As you unlock the ships you'll find out which ones you like the best. Power ups! Yep that's right. To make things even more exciting some enemies carry power ups. After you kill them the power up will fall. You just catch it and bam you start triple firing or mega firing for a limited amount of time. If you get another power up the time gets extended and you get both power ups simultaneously. If you get the third power up, and this isn't easy to do, you then get all three going at once. You really can rack up the points doing this. But again it's completely random and not easy to do. Prize machine and coins! You can unlock ships buy collecting 200 coins while playing and then using a prize machine which will award you a new ship. You also get free coins every 6 hours. If you keep at it you can unlock most ships in a reasonable amount of time. Missions! There are 3 active missions during every play. Completing a mission will award you coins. These missions will regenerate over time. You can make a lot of coins doing missions. Some of them are NOT easy and will keep things interesting. NO ENERGY timer mechanics or BS of any kind. You play when you want. You play how you want. You play as much as you want. Settings! There are lots of options in settings. You can choose the brightness of the backgrounds and change the sounds and all sorts of stuff. Social networking! You can share to Twitter and other social media. I share my scores to Twitter all of the time. I just shared the Galaxic ship I bought Ok let's talk monetization. Some of it will make people happy and I'm sure some of it wont. The devs wanted to make this game accessible to everyone. We went back and forth on how to strike the best compromises between the beta testers and the devs. So here goes. The are NO FORCED ADS. The missions regenerate over time but you can rush new ones by watching one opt in video ad. It's worth it because you can make a lot of coins this way. During the beta I unlocked a ton of ships fast this way. You can also purchase ships directly for $.99 each. They are worth it. As I said I bought 5 of them right off the bat. Some of them are so much fun. You can also watch opt in ads for coins. You can make a lot of coins doing this. That's pretty much it. Yes there are a lot of opt in ads. But you can choose to view them and the rewards definitely warrant them and I'm ok with it. In an upcoming update the dev will be introducing a coin doubler IAP that will do way more than just double coins. It will be a single purchase but he wants it to be a double coin and incentive type of program. It will be awesome and I'll be buying it of course. The devs are always working on a v1.1 update with more ships and features. They aren't just sitting back. In the end this game has so much replayability. It's just so damn fun to play. I recommend buying the following ships outright if you have $2 to spare: Galaxic Shipception I absolutely love these ships and their entire themes. They are a lot of fun to play.
