Been playing for 2 days now. A high quality RPG with a heavy focus on story and characters. It’s dark fantasy, and certainly not for everyone. Graphics won’t win any awards but the artwork, art direction and level of detail is just in a league of its own. I think it’s clever that they didn’t opt for top notch graphics. I’m sure this allows the game to run well on a wider range of devices. Monetisation is quite similar to what you’ve already seen in games like Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact. There is a lot going on but if your key focus is on the story and characters, you won’t be bothered by them much. At a glance, most will reject this as just another F2P Gacha RPG. But do give it a try. You will be surprised as to how good it actually is. squarezero likes this. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,715 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #3 squarezero, Apr 4, 2024 Nailed it. I happen to think the graphics are great, but then again I love big, Vanillaware style sprites. The character animations, particularly in the cut scenes, are amazing. My only quibble is I wish the missions were longer and more involved. But I’m still early on, so it’s possible that will change. Overall, though, this is a pretty amazing game. Rocksaint likes this. It’s just that when you compare it with mobile games nowadays, especially the ones in this specific genre, people might find this a bit dated. Yeah, the levels are quite short. But maybe that was intentional keeping in mind that people tend to spend less time in one session on mobile. I am early into the game too. So quite story heavy at the moment. Let’s see how it all pans out as I keep playing. squarezero likes this. sebgo Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2010 831 397 63 Male 95% leisure. Somewhere in a town amidst the Amazon jungle. http://www.google.com #5 sebgo, Apr 5, 2024 Love the artstyle, as seen on screenshots, but I can't justify a 3GB+ free-to-play game, no matter how fair it is with monetization. And since, according to previous posts, it's short-mission based, I think it's not for me anyway. I think selecting missions too often tends to break the flow; although, as stated earlier, it works well for a mobile environment for someone who mostly plays short sessions, like people that start a fortress upgrade and come back a few days later to see if it's been finished. I'll keep an eye on future impressions and see if they're enough to make an excuse to check it myself! (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
